Kayla's odd charge could also be she knew Nick was giving the 8-9 year old Coke and allowed it or did nothing. Whereas Nick's charge while seemingly less, can expand up to include giving the kid coke. Just playing Occam's Razor as the coked up daughter would explain that weird charging difference.
