I think Devil Fruits are a collective "Haki" of sorts.

We know that strong enough Willpower can have physical effects on the world around you, what if enough collective desire can manifest a Devil Fruit.
i have a feeling its something like that as well. not just because of luffy having the nika fruit but because of sabo having aces devil fruit. some of the fruits seem to have the ability to find their way to their desired user. it may even have something to do with the will of D but i am unsure about that.

(sorry in advance for dual posting if i am)
As we know one of the biggest themes in One Piece is Inherited Will which once i thought about it i love the contrast of Blackbeard and Sabo. Sabo was destined (in this context) to be the one to carry Ace's legacy through his DF also due to Luffy already having eaten a DF. Blackbeard did whatever it is but we can agree he stole at least the powers of the Gura Gura no Mi. Blackbeard specifically wanted the Dark Dark Fruit and knew that whatever the fruit's special properties were could be linked to why he was about to steal the Quake Quake fruit.

Makes sense considering Blackbeard is just “Luffy, but evil.”

Read the raws, so spoilers incoming

Well, I already spoilt myself on the big thing which is Bonnie Nika so just read the rest of the raws. D is still getting cockteased for another 300 chapters I would expect. But Bonnie being able to go full Nika has thrown me for an absolute loop and I have no idea how to process this. Also, the robot giant I guess likes it more when there are more Nikas around? Discussion will definitely go nuts with this one.

New chapter is up.

Bonney has weird Devil Fruit powers. Maybe the reason she's able to replicate Luffy's forms and abilities is because part of her Devil Fruit power is the ability to momentarily collapse any conceivable timeline into her own and maybe there's some alternate timeline where she wound up woth Luffy's Devil Fruit instead of her own. She's just now able to do these things because she's witnessed Luffy's abilities. Schrodinger's Multiverse Fruit? Kinda overpowered.

Agreed. I just don't really get what the fuck is up with Bonny's character and why they have suddenly become one of the MOST IMPORTANT characters with clearly the best ability out of nowhere.

Is it the best though? It seems to have a rather strict timelimit and the backlash seems quiet high. Then again her turning all those vide admirals into little children is amusing to say the very least. On the other hand those elders seem to have cheat armor considering how many hits some of those took already and they don't seem to be fazed by it at all

so i could be understanding it wrong but blackbeard has always had a "special body" which is why he is able to use both his and whitebeards fruit powers at the same time.

he picked the dark dark fruit because it is insanely strong and lets him absorb most attacks which is ideal for him. my theory for how he can use both fruits is that he is actually 2 people using the same body. the second person being rocks d xebec.

blackbeard and rocks both seem to have the same ideals as pirates and if joyboy was actually able to continue living via the nika fruit perhaps rocks found his way to the dark dark fruit before he died or perhaps people with the will of d are able to continue living forever by pushing their will forward into the future.

from what i understand bonneys power is more time based than anything. its at its strongest now when she is still a child and has plenty of time left to have any form of future she wants. shes not going into other timelines or anything like that shes just able to become whatever future she sees for herself.

so if she sees herself becoming truly free like luffy she can do that not just because shes copying his powers but because shes been told about nika both by kuma himself and when she saw his memories.

Isn’t that normal for every arc when the main ally gets their backstory?

I’m still banking on Imu gifting them the powers. With the treasure of Mary Geoise being something to surpass Metal Gear.

I maintain Egghead is a real bad Arc and the WG are not threatening. And feel things are being dragged out and padded needlessly.
I wouldn’t say Egghead is bad. If anything, I think it’s not sticking the landing (with the giant looking like the only true disappointment). I think Oda realized that if Vegapunk went on with this broadcast undisputed, it’d lead to his readers connecting the dots and pieces together and figuring out the endgame WAY earlier than he wants them to, so he did a hard pivot and had the cut broadcast pieces to keep the mystery going, and he must have felt it was worth it if it just turned this thing into a rehash of the last speeches of Clover and Whitebeard.

As for the World Government not being a threat, the threat they pose is like The Party in 1984: all that matters is keeping absolute control, regardless of what needed to be done in order to make that possible, like suppressing history and destroying an island. Maintaining order is their main drive, and the only reason they’re doing thing like showing the Gorosei having monster forms is because they feel that an agent of chaos has gone on for long enough now that the true power of that agent (Luffy) has been realized.

Also, it’s very clear that the stage is being set for the final showdown where the Gorosei and Imu will REALLY strut their stuff. Sort of like Mihawk when it comes to Zoro, or Shanks when it comes to Luffy.

Didn't people feel this way about Law?
Law's power is good, but not this unbelievably broken. He also was important to overall plot of the arc he was in, whereas Bonny is treated as the most important character despite her not actually being that important to the plot of this arc.

Sure, she has the typical super sad backstory but that backstory and her character in general really don't have much relevance to the plot or its villains in any meaningful way. Law on the other hand had deep roots to the Dressorosa arc and its main villain

I am just saying she is just absurdly powerful and treated with a reverence in the arc that her character doesn't seem to merit and really hasn't earned.

Lord of The Rings of manga, everybody!

Also, I think Bonney and how she’s presented is mostly tied into the story of Kuma, who’s mostly here to provide payoff for why he split the Straw Hats before the timeskip. More specifically , the faith in Nika and what he represents, with this chapter and her powers being the reward for keeping her faith.
