Fur baby shit is so obnoxious.
Honestly, I kind of agree. Don't get me wrong, love my pets and would throw myself in front of a moving car to save them, but the whole "fur baby/pawrent/pet parenthood" culture ignites a visceral cringe in me. Pets are great but don't treat them as a substitute for an actual child, you know?

And given this is J and Corissa, it's maximum obnoxious.

It's hard to say, I think she'll probably need to see her regular doctor prior to travelling, and I think this is where she's going to run into problems. No anesthesiologist is going to touch her.

That said, they can do reduction mammoplasty under conscious sedation, as someone mentioned earlier. Cue chief complaint of muh medical trauma.
I wouldn't want my penis cut off with just prop or ketamine on deck. That sounds awful. That *sounds* traumatizing.

Does a reduction/flattening still involve the same long big incision(s)?
I don’t think any of us here are plastic surgeons to be able to answer this question if it was a regular breast reduction even, but this surgery is being done by an SRS butcher, so anything’s on the table as to how he’ll do it. If he cares about his results, he’d need long incisions to get all the fat tissue out from her armpit over to her back fat. He’s an SRS butcher so what am I saying, of course he won’t care about the actual results. J may end up looking like dumpling woman. IYKYK!

Juliana was clearly neglected as a baby, because she's twice the weight she should have been. But it looks like middle school shamed her into being a fit butch girl - a very cute one! Then she found fat acceptance in high school, leading to her inevitable early death in her 30s from super morbid obesity. It didn't have to be this way.
It's the best she's ever looked in her life. J has talked about having a foster family pay for Weight Watchers meetings and refuse to keep junk food in the house to the best of their ability all in an effort to give J a fighting chance at getting to the size of a regular human being. Of course, J has rewritten this period to be some kind of horrific abuse that traumatized her. But tbf, that's probably the strength of cope required to bear acknowledging that period in her life and how much better she looked and felt vs what it is like as a butter golem who draws constant negative attention to herself while being handicapped by the weight of her own bulk.

I'll bite. I can still wrap a towel around to cover the old hangnail, but come on. Plenty of people are put out sitting next to a lady with a baby or a tall guy. I can imagine summoning up repulsion, frustration, and a whole lot of other things about me if you get stuck next to me. Why can't fat people just admit they're kind of a bummer to sit next to?

I like babies. I like fat people. I certainly should have no ill will toward people over 5' 10". I don't want to sit next to any of them. My ideal flight is the emergency exit aisle, Weekend at Bernie's to my left and my right.
Sitting next to J is worse than any of the situations you're thinking of, though, because people like her manage to offend nearly all of your senses the entire time while a screaming infant or tall guy tends to only really affect 1 or 2. Tall people might require you to sit a little awkwardly or uncomfortably, but that's not the same as being literally crushed by the weight of the stinking sweaty flab pressed against you for long periods or the greasy residue and odor that clings to you for days afterwards. A screaming infant might fall asleep eventually, but the heavy wheezing, complaining, chomping of snacks, grunting, and other bodily noises emitted by a giant lardass whose physical presence on a flight has on the verge of death isn't a whole lot better (and given how poorly they can manage the bathroom situation, won't be much more hygienic about it than a diaper-shitting child). I don't even need to talk about the Christ-awful smell. And of course the potential for flight delays due to their physical difficulty boarding or the likelihood of havoc caused if one of them has a medical event, or the possibility of them buying one seat when they require 2 or 3 and getting people bumped from the flight altogether. A waiting room you can just get up and move or leave, rudeness be damned, but it takes a literal saint of a human being to manage masking all evidence of distaste in situations where you can't.

Would scream if I had to sit next to J. Not an exaggeration. Tip for flying: make up some medical sounding excuse why you need your whole seat you paid for. Sad that it’s come to this, but it goes better with the airline to say “I’m not sitting here because of XYZ thing with me,” rather than complaining your seatmate is too large, loud, or malodorous. Back, joint, or sensory issues/autism are sufficiently difficult to prove.

Don't get me wrong, love my pets and would throw myself in front of a moving car to save them
Oh whatever. I am sick to death of this performative pet-owner bullshit. A dog is a dog. You’re actually saying you would potentially give your own life or spend your remaining years permanently disabled in constant pain if it meant you temporarily delayed the death of a pet? That’s ridiculous. Humans are more important than animals. Dogs are not children.

If my dog ran into traffic and I had to choose between her and me? I’m choosing myself, so would you, and I’m sick and tired of people insisting otherwise. It’s not morally superior, it’s unhinged.
that's probably the strength of cope required to bear acknowledging that period in her life and how much better she looked and felt vs what it is like as a butter golem who draws constant negative attention to herself while being handicapped by the weight of her own bulk.
I have relatives who are food addicted. They would also interpret this treatment as abuse. There is probably no secret cognitive dissonance. She was probably jonesing the entire time.

Humans are more important than animals.
Jokes on you, I’m a misanthrope who utterly hates other humans, so your moral posturing doesn’t work on me.

Thread tax: Fat Camp is in a couple weeks and it looks like one day is going to be rainy. Still hoping it gets rained out, but one day is better than nothing.

What reel did she post that she got that much shit for? I didn't think she got enough views for that much hate.

And is that smashed potato salad ONLY tots? Kinda looks like it. Nothing wrong with a good tot now and again, but...

And while I'm thinking of it, that survey is as of January 2022; less than 20% of us got it right, it should probably be updated.

I'm in volunteer mental health spaces and I believe "died by suicide" is the preferred term-- I've heard "completed" but that feels like something you'd say if you forgot the preferred term and can't think of another euphemism for "committed."

Also pretty tacky to use someone else's fucking suicide as a deflection. What is she gonna say next time she wants to dodge criticism? A friend got murdered? Have some ACTUAL compassion and leave your dead friend out of your fat tantrums.

It was a crime, at some point.

Still technically on the books as a crime in nearly all US jurisdictions, just not ever prosecuted unless you kill or hurt someone else in the attempt.

This is because police or other authorities are legally allowed to enter a home or other space without a warrant or similar in order to prevent the commission of a dangerous crime. Defining suicide as technically a crime allows cops to come in and stop one if needed, legally.

(That said, cops aren’t the best at dealing with mental health emergencies, I think the development of mobile crisis teams in some cities are good. IMO, you don’t want a cop in that situation, you’d be better off with a healthcare worker).
