An explanation for this ive run into is that nick may have harmed a child while under the influence and kayla did not stop it but was not the aggressor.

During Nick's 2022 "worst day" saga (I guess he has some new worst days though) he had some weird Locals streams on a similar theme. This was before he was getting clipped regularly, but @Cynthia Behave posted some clips while she was still here. Well Nick doesn't have any charges for that yet. The simplest explanation until more information comes out is that it's a charging error and someone's hand slipped in a dropdown box or something.

Now granted, it wasn't enough for him to succeed in getting her out of Kelly's hands (at least not through the legal system which is why when that failed, he resorted to kidnapping Sophie instead), but the difference between the downright illegal shit they were pulling before the case blew up and how they were acting afterwards, was night and day. It was a clear example showing that public scrutiny, even from anonymous people online, causes courts to get their act together.

Nick has probably seen other examples like it and now thinks that making noise online will benefit his case.
