At a minimum, it cuts his chances (and hers) of getting clean in half (probably more) If they don't BOTH get clean and stay clean, the other will almost certainly fall off the wagon- and if even one of them is relapsing, they can't (and shouldn't) get the kids back.

Unless some miracle happens and they both manage to kick it (and lay off the booze, and the gummies, and everything else under the sun) there is a VERY high chance that they either end up divorced, or end up never seeing their kids again and descending together into the pit of addiction and degeneracy until it kills them.

I don't wish that outcome on them, but being shacked up with another addict can easily spiral into an even worse situation unless they BOTH manage to commit to getting clean.

I think you're not understanding the statute. 609.378.1(a)(1) Is neglect by deprivation "deprives a child of necessary food, clothing, shelter, health care, or supervision". Kayla is charged with 609.378.1(a)(2) "knowingly permits the continuing physical or sexual abuse of a child". I don't see why these would be separate, and she would be charged with the second, if 1(a)(2) could also refer to neglect by deprivation.

ah well I consneed you got me on that. I, much like nick rekeita, am not a practicing lawyer.

regardless my bets are still on it being not an error. I'll eat shit if I'm wrong but I have zero doubt with the behavior described and how I know crack dens can get there was at least some physical abuse, even if it was simply kayla throwing things and nicking a kid by accident once or twice.
