It really is incredible that Dick has dodged anything close to this for as long as he has knowing the kind of company he openly brags about keeping when you think about it. Those totally random sprained ankles or grandmas birthday parties keeping him from hanging with Ralph must have saved him from

The point is the drugs and alcohol are second order symptoms to the fact that Nick is fundamentally a selfish, irresponsible asshole. It's one thing to live alone and pursue your habit in denial, it's quite another for the police to have to raid your white collar crack den to check on your 4 children and think 'wow people on the Internet are so judgmental'. Nick isn't so much imprisoned by his addictions as feels entitled to them - its the same attitude he has towards respect, people's attention and sex. Drugs or no drugs, this is apparently who he really is, all they've done is amplify the chip on his shoulder. His whole life philosophy seems to be "I deserve this, and if you disagree, well, I'm a chill, laid back guy, so I'll magnanimously accept that's your opinion but you're so fucking wrong, you stuck-up pleb".

I was talking about Dax, but I wouldn't doubt that Styx is bad too.

I just think a lot of things would be less stupid if Daxipad dropped dead tomorrow, or was sent upriver. I think the seeds of Nick's downfall were planted in 2017, by Dax, when Nick was covering the Maddox case, but they didn't fully sprout until sometime in late 2022.

The man, by all appearances, cranked on out on stream and THEN noticed the camera. Just how discreet/careful do you think he was?

I hadn't seen anything for probably 10-12 months except the week before last. I did catch part of a stream because I happened to be up late at the smoker. He looked like death on a cracker and the subject matter was so off putting, I noped out in 10 minutes or less.

Then this happens, so I spent a little time looking at things other than the salacious clips, and I saw vids of him cooking off on most of his friends at one point or another. Leagl Mindset, Sean from PC and several others had couched comments about while they wanted him to get help, they had to distance themselves.

Then it was the fans who dared to want the old Nick back. They wanted that confluence of legal analysis and witty quips that earned him his (now diminishing) following. Nick rants were a thing when it was righteous indignation over an in justice; but the pure venom and seething toward those that were friends and those that were fans.

I've heard the trite, "Everybody has their demons and Nick is struggling with his." First of all, how dare one curse others like that. Second, there is a serious darkness there and spiritual warfare is definitely afoot.

But there's the pragmatic first. Nick: Remove the poisons first and dispose of this case. And (I mean this) for the love of God, save yourself for your children or you'll damn them to a life incomplete and strife. Many of us love you, you degenerate fig. But we're pissed and will turn away unless you repent.

Added in Edit: I just thought of a bright side. The internet will quit screeching about "black face lawyer" for the time being.
