Nick lives in a essentially a compound out in the middle of nowhere and has to have at least some knowledge of what/how much of a certain drug you can have in what ways for it to not be a certain degree of charge/felony. He's obviously not smart enough to only have a misdemeanor amount a once, but even if he was insisting on hoarding a large amount you'd think he'd use a single foot of that mountain space available in that backyard and burying the nest egg in some canister or something and only go to it as needed.
