Ozzy burned through most of his genius in Black Sabbath. His solo career was mostly a neon drug buffet of arena rock and a launch pad for a couple solid guitar players. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that every double wide trailer sold in the mid-late 80s came with a free Blizzard of Ozz tape.

I’m genuinely worried about Ozzy dying and the impact it’ll have on Josh. Warlord once drunkenly slurred “fuck Ozzy” and Cobes beat the shit out of him for it and spent the rest of the night seething and literally crying over it. All because his friend said “Fuck Ozzy” imagine how he’ll react when he dies

Warlord was already on thin ice too after he was fighting homefelon Ian and calling him a sicko. My favorite part of that whole situation was when Josh was in discord and he started to sound like Marge Simpson crying about a subway sandwich a hobo ate. “ONE OF MY FANS SENT ME A SUBWAY SANDWICH… AND I LET THE FUCKER EEAT IT!!”

Also not a reddit degenerate, am myself platform agnostic and a degenerate of my own regard. I feel sad for him about it now, but at the time it delighted me to no end how much it hurt him to watch a homeless man eat a sauce sandwich a troll sent.

Time put just how sad that whole event was into perspective. Jord really does attach himself to objects that have zero value.

Ehhh what? Ozzy honestly only wrote 2-3 songs with Sabbath, "Changes", "Who Are You" and "Am I Going Insane". Tony wrote all the riffs and Geezer wrote all the lyrics. Ozzy's contributions for Black Sabbath were minimal at best. I have heard rumors that he helped Geezer write the lyrics for "Fairies Wear Boots" but considering that song is about a really bad trip Geezer had ( I don't think the myth about it being about the band being attacked by skinheads is true), I am going to continue believing that is Geezer's song and his song alone.

Ozzy's "genius" didn't become apparent until after Sabbath in his unworldly ability to find bonified guitar Gods to recruit to his band. Randy, Jake, Zakk, Gus. And considering Blizzard of Oz, Diary of a Madman, and No More Tears are some of the best metal albums ever released, it is fair to say his genius was only realized after he was kicked out of Sabbath, considering Sabbath flourished immensely under Dio (and some of the Martin era albums are really good even if they are different, plus Ian's album Born Again is just fucking amazing, we don't talk about the Glen Hughes album though). Hell even today Ozzy still puts out quality music. The Ordinary Man album is by far the worst thing he has ever done that wasn't "Under Cover" (though the title track with Elton John is killer), but Patient #9 is on another level of impressive.
