It's not a coincidence that furaffinity and e621 have scores: posts have scores for views, comments, faves and upvotes/downvotes while FA accounts will keep a count for the comments and faves.

Let's be honest here, ever social media platform should be 16+ at minimum.

Just like every game with mic options should age restrict the mic.

The problem is how do you implement it?
I mean porn sites can't even be expected to require age verification past a check box that is easily ignored without half the Internet losing it's shit.

Gatekeeping can't be reliable anymore because every group gets infested by bad actors and promptly ruined.


Still in favor of nuking every social media platform though. May make me unpopular but I refuse to pretend like any of these do any good besides sow conflict and interaction farming from soulless individuals.

I feel like people will bypass it somehow, even if you had to show your ID, people can get fake IDs.

This reminds me of the chinese game Call of Duty Online, people would use this random dude's ID to access the game. People could also use IDs they find online too.

I don't think that's an unpopular opinion here. This place is full of people who internally know that infinite scroll and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race, and that social media is a gigantic waste of perfectly good bandwidth that could be more productively spent on literally anything else, up to and including the humble ICMP ping request. Fuck social media, I would happily sacrifice it all for one new forum or even one of those static HTML gems with high information density and no JavaScript, because it would be a clear improvement to the Internet with no downsides except maybe mass retard exodus.

The goal isn't to stop it entirely, that so set sail long ago. It's more is making it more of a pain to access. Laziness wins out a lot and the horny moments pass given time. Instant access to indulge degeneracy only perpetuates it more intensely.
