How does Aaron Imholte still have a valid driver's license? I mean, God dayum!
I'm now thinking maybe Nick is stepping in with April in order to avoid their insurance dropping them. Her citation might be easier to mitigate, and maybe keep off the records, if she has a cleaner record. That makes a hell of a lot more sense than stepping in to keep April from having to avoid a small fine.

He could be doing it pro bono on the basis he needs April to keep helping driving the kids around. Insurance coverage is mandatory, and I presume they have a joint policy like a lot of married couples.
Looking at Aaron's driving record, I now think retaining counsel isn't quite as stupid as I initially thought. Their insurance premiums must already be outrageous.

The whole episode with Nick, April and Aaron makes me think of when you tell a little lie, and it continues to grow and grow as you try and maintain it.
So here we are, the two people Nick swings with that he kept hidden away for a good amount of time while maintaining his lie about being monogamous, only got closer and closer to the point where it is completely undeniable now.
Nick Rekieta is a swinger.
- It wasn't terribly long ago that on the Side Scrollers podcast, I remember Nick trying to clap back against swinger allegations by creating this really stupid story about him "buying people drinks at bars, and people think he swings." If you went in knowing about Hedo II, that was probably the stupidest story you've ever heard.
- Then during the Sean struggle call, Nick tried to clap back against the swinger allegations again, claiming "my wife and I are monogamous and only have sex with each other." I guess if you count balldo-ing as sex, and not masturbation sure.
- Then the hot tub video got out, and people in large numbers could see, without having to go through the forums to read about the Hedo II stuff. The pushback from him after this, IIRC, was him saying "apparently people are upset about me being in a hot tub" or some really stupid thing like that. The lie only grew larger, and became much harder to control.
- Then these two bag-o-syphilis' April and Aaron started appearing in Nick's life way more often, and it became WAY more apparent that their relationship wasn't just some normal friendship where you go play poker, or play Halo 2 splitscreen together or whatever. They get almost nude and lick each other casually, yet Nick still has not come out saying that he's been lying about not being a swinger all this time. So from my perspective, the lie only grew even more.
- Finally, these two are so heavily involved in his life to the point of one of them being his first client in years, the word getting out on Aaron's behavior, and the spotlight is shining right on them at this point with people looking into them in great detail.

side note: On American Beauty I personally thought it was a decent movie, very interesting period piece and I do sympathize with the MC minus the lusting after kids to some degree I've experienced and seen others experience how having a dull joyless life can make you act out but it is sick how rackets thinks that the moral of the movie, for all the love he gives it, is that the MC should have banged the high school girl.
