Yes because it's not like there have been countless attempts by the US government to control the web because they despise the amount of freedom it gives to people. SOPA, PIPA, PATRIOT Act, the recent TikTok ban where they did the aforementioned trojan horse and can ban any site they wish, not just TikTok, surely this legislation isn't another step towards that because it's to "protect the children", so let's just trust them on this one.Not every form of government regulation is the first step on some slippery slope to a North Korean-style totalitarian regime where the Secret Police kidnap you for shitposting online.
Again, China didn't became what it is overnight, they took slow steps so people wouldn't realize that they're getting buttfucked, and you're too shortsighted to see that. And again, this legislation won't to shit to protect the kids, because VPN's and Tor exist, but it will set the slippery slope precedent of requiring real ID to access specific websites.
Whatever, I'm repeating myself and clearly you won't change your mind. If you want government overreach, just move to China, you'll love it there. Big daddy government making sure you're a good boy citizen and that you won't fart without the state's permission. Don't push for that shit in countries where people actually value being free.
Is this some new fangled slang for "a furry character that has a shitton of smut of it made"?anthropomorphic pornstars
