I thought it was a silly meme. But is this really true? Do Americans not get a public holiday here? Do they REALLY?

US gov’t can’t make religious holidays a public holiday or else it’ll run into the issue of separation of church and state.

Most non-service businesses are already closed weekends, and can give Good Friday off.

But Christmas... you guys get Christmas off right?

(idk i saw "Easter" in the title and this is the only vaguely related to religion funny video clip i have in my Collection)

It involves chocolate you bet your life those bucketarse seppos celebrate/eat it
Yeah that's what I be saying man it's just like how Christmas is overly commercialised. It's mostly about the Easter bunny and chocolate and hot cross buns. Don't get the argument about how it's too religious. The globohomo saw to cull the religious influence as much as possible.

Depends on your employer. Christmas is a federal holiday, which means school is out and anyone employed by the government in some fashion gets the day off. Some places are open on Christmas, as there's no law against that.

This list accidentally says 8 is Columbus day when it's actually Indigenous People's day.

It's much more important to give the goyslop enjoyers Cesar Chavez day off than Easter or Good Friday. Another tick in the "make the government the religion of the US" b.s. going on today.

It's not required. That said, many U.S. employers do give the day off anyway, or the Friday before, and not even religious adjacent companies like Chick-fil-a or Hobby Lobby (who both give Sundays off anyway). Common for many international firms to have slow Fridays and Mondays around Easter, with much of Europe off. The same is true though around Lunar New Year for Asia.

Above all said, they still sell a shitload of Easter candy and crap at all your big box stores, and the first big toy sales of the year hit at Easter.
