Texas Roadhouse is what Jack claims the best steakhouse is. As a food guy like many of my beloved fellow posters, we know it's a mid tier chain. To be honest I've never been so I don't want to be overly critical. We all know you get more bang for buck at home so I'll say that and move on. I'm sure it's fine. But the best steak? Has this chaos spawn of botulism ever reeed loud enough to do "baller with Jack"? Even try one of high end chains IE Morton's or Ruth Chris?

While good, even more overpriced due to name. At my old job we took clients out and I ended up at Ruth Chris a few times (who cares when corp foots the bill) this is pre covid for a damned good steak 100 bucks. Now the local high end places even better like noticable for same price. I often suggested clients them because I rather support a single place over a chain and damned well rather eat better!

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Jack has never had a good steak and if so he didn't know it he's too adapted to slop. I don't mean to be a snob but our diet our bodies adapt to and our palletes. If you eat nothing but trash you can't grasp subtle notes because garbage is overly seasoned and mostly salted to hide the base poor quality.

Meat is a southern staple while his area is known for bourbon and smoking bbq I refuse to accept there's no good steaks around.

Forgive me for being sentimental here but, Jack has given us a low pressure way to talk to strangers about foods and everyone is respectful chill and welcoming.

I like you all enjoy food and cooking but, I feel food TV/YT is well porn I mean who's using 40 dollars of saffron on a "quick cheap and easy meal" for a Tuesday night? TV says so. Cooking groups people try to be fancier than they are and it's draining, chef school etc is for pros! I am handy but I couldn't cut it a day as a prep cook. Different whole ball game and frankly with all due respect it's not how I cook or want to.

All because Jack's such a fat gay wendigo have we made a little group to laugh at his fails and politely share our thoughts. We have different lives, wants,needs budgets, tools etc and that's part why this is so good.

If you were to throw bottled Italian dressing on a pork chop and bake it and it made you and your family happy we'd all cheer you on because you did something and came to share. Same if you slaughtered your own pig and smoked for Easter ham. We're just that chill.

Jacks entire fart in the wind of fame was based on being lazy and cutting corners. Not anything to be ashamed of honestly. We all have nights when we're home there's not a lot in the house and we don't want to order out.

For someone who's angle is easy cheap and simple. you'd probably be best not being such a shamer and hater like Jack. Double so if you don't know quality when it slaps you . All the pig knows is quantity.

To end this I made Kassler the other night Mrs has never had it proper. She enjoyed it and it meant a lot to her to share something that is part of my family history.
