Apparently because they weren't showing any mega evolutions in the trailers, along with the Z moves using the spot for the mega bracelet, people thought it was being skipped. At worse, it's going to be limited to the post game.

Damn, beat me to it!

Anyway, it looks like the final starter evolutions have still yet to be confirmed or denied. I think they're legit though, especially looking at Popplio's first evolution:

Actually, I see it in all of them!
Brionne's species is also classified as "Pop Star Pokemon" so it evolving into a siren seems very likely.

Dartrix's official description says it will lose focus and retreat from battle if it gets too dirty. I wonder if this is just a "fun fact" about the Pokemon's personality that has no effect in-game or if it's something that plays into Pokemon Refresh.

I know Poke'mon can jump pretty high in design when evolving (see Remoraid, that fish-turning-octopus bugger) but the only one I could see evolving into these leaked final evolutions is Popplio. There's too many differences between the mid-evolution and final-evolution for Rowlet and Litten for me to really, truly believe in the leaks 100% right now.

But eh, that's just my opinion. Plus I'm so fucking tired of bi-pedal fire-type starters so I'm really hoping Litten's final evo isn't that.

Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, I think every fire starter from every generation has eventually gone bi-pedal. I guess it's more the whole fighter look that irks me because if it's another fire/fighting type I will quit.

Plus Mallow appearing in the leaked image with the final evos a couple weeks before she was revealed.

It doesn't necessarily mean that the final evos will look exactly as depicted in the leak. I always assumed it was concept art that was subject to change. Just saying, I think there's something to it.

Is that Battle Test feature from ORAS (where you don't have to save before doing it) going to return?

Of course Alolan Ninetails is going to be in it because that's what clinched it for me that I will get in on this game after skipping the Kalos Gen.

Rowlett is my favorite of the starers, so he'll be there. Entirely undecided on the rest.

The regional revamps of Gen 1's giving me feels. I'm not sure I could choose with so many new ones AND my favorite ones in one game. I'd have to have like...three... teams, probably. Also is that a nudibranch?
-Fuck the lazy part, the nudibranch is on my team.

(If Alolan Raticate doesn't have some sort of move that shoots projectile coconuts or seeds, I'm going to be disappointed in the wasted opportunity to explain away those hilarious cheeks.)

It's Pyukumuku! A mix of a sea cucumber and sea bunny. Like the sea cucumber, it attacks using it's innards!

Rowlet, Lycanroc, Jangmo-o, Mimikyu, Vikavolt, and Salandit are the current six I would probably have on my team for a good portion of the game. Not sure who I'd have as a potential water-type/surf user since I'm kinda eeeh with most the water-types revealed so far.
