I personally wouldn't trust Microsoft to not find some way of releasing an update completely bricking Windows 11 installs on older computers

the whole TPM requirement is fake and gay anyway. ms WANTS people to use win11, with or without it, so I don't see much reason to prevent that.I personally wouldn't trust Microsoft to not find some way of releasing an update completely bricking Windows 11 installs on older computers
At some point I wonder if they'll just drop the TPM requirement and auto update you to 11 anyway.the whole TPM requirement is fake and gay anyway. ms WANTS people to use win11, with or without it, so I don't see much reason to prevent that.

You can very obviously run Win 11 without it being enabled, so...
they are microsoft, of course they do. surprise motherfucker! you thought windows 10 was the last windows? At some point I wonder if they'll just drop the TPM requirement and auto update you to 11 anyway.
You can't disable it? Perhaps Revo Uninstaller can do it.Getting really sick of this communist kikery. Just woke up to a faggy copilot data sucking app on my taskbar.
i am so fucking tired of seeing that claim be repeated by retards who use their computer as if it were an ipad, you can't even use linux without setting a password for your account, a password which you will be forced to enter every single time you want to update / install anythingYet it supposedly gives the user more control than windows.
If you're willing to dig around in the PAM configs, you can change that. I set up my Linux machines like tractors, as long as you have your Yubikey plugged in you can do everything without manually typing a password. I haven't tried, but I bet you could completely disable passwords (or at least anything ever asking you for one) if you really, really wanted.you can't even use linux without setting a password for your account, a password which you will be forced to enter every single time you want to update / install anything
Just run your desktop environment as rootI haven't tried, but I bet you could completely disable passwords (or at least anything ever asking you for one) if you really, really wanted.
nothing could possibly go wrong.I run everything in ring 0 as King Terry intended.Just run your desktop environment as rootnothing could possibly go wrong.
already tried that myself years ago but i was not able to get it working properly, random programs would keep whining about lack of permissions no matter what once the password prompts were disabledI haven't tried, but I bet you could completely disable passwords (or at least anything ever asking you for one) if you really, really wanted.

does that even disable any of the prompts outside the terminal? that was the main issue i had back thenBoo-fucking-hoo.
What were you doing to get sudo prompts outside the terminal? Only time I get something like that is when I'm messing around with VM images, and only because I'm doing that wrong in the first place (Since I'm messing around with the images I should be storing them in a folder owned by the libvirt group I'm a member of, and thus wouldn't need to elevate permissions to mess with them. I don't make that change because it would be three terminal commands and I'm lazy and keep thinking "this time will be the last time I'm messing with this stuff anyway").does that even disable any of the prompts outside the terminal? that was the main issue i had back then
also, why do you guys hate nice things?

Yeah, I'd say that qualifies. I also agree it's unnecessary on a personal computer (though super important on a workstation, which is after all what Linux is designed around). You should be able to disable it by changing your sudo policy.View attachment 5766221
does this count as a sudo prompt? these are so annoying and unnecessary
Hit Ctrl+O and Ctrl+X to save and exit. You may need to log out and back in again for the change to apply, I dunno.View attachment 5765700
