I have been a vegetarian since I was 10 or 11 and was a vegan for about 5 years before I had to briefly move to a place where the options for vegan food were extremely limited and I started to eat cheese again. It's very hard to give up dairy, I am planning on getting my own chickens and goats so I can source eggs and milk/cheese somewhat ethically.

The worst part about being vegan/vegetarian is people constantly lecturing you despite the fact that I literally never brought it up in a conversation ever unless I had to turn down food offered to me. That's when people start giving you a condescending lecture about how it's actually so unhealthy and bad for you to not eat 20 pounds of beef a day. Literally never met one of the militant vegans or vegetarians that people always complain about, but meat eaters really do take great offense to anyone who doesn't want to eat meat and will never ever shut up about it.
