I want to call out the bolded portion. With a normal person, you would assume when reading that that the person was saying that their child was sick. You might be more than a little confused why they spent dozens of words when they could have just said "my kid has been sick for a few days", without giving any more detail than what Nick is already implying.

However, Nick is not a normal person. This is the type of liminal space he likes to operate in where he can imply something without actually lying.

Just saying.

Nick also specified in chat that "he was dealing with a medical issue in my family for three days", see my above post, which makes the situation even more confusing.

My thing is: I just don't get what people hope to gain by continually discussing Nicholas Robert Rekieta's religious interpretations as if they were sincerely held. Does anyone believe he would be pretending to be religious at all if he didn't marry someone from a religious family?

Seeing this come up every now and again. Posting for reference because it will surely come up again later.

It is discussed for the same reason people discuss Nick's sobriety (or lack thereof), degenerate behavior, or anything about Nick really. It's about either catching him in a lie or a state of denial/ignorance. Even if Nick did make religion, drinking, and the like a part of his persona, Nick's sincerity is largely irrelevant.

As for what people gain from continually discussing Nicholas Robert Rekieta's religious interpretations, well, it is another opportunity to either show Nick's hypocrisy (since this is what he used to help draw his audience) or make Nick look foolish as he treads out of his depth.

Finally, even if Nick didn't marry someone from a religious family, being a chad-trad-dad really helped pay the bills and make him seem more credible/sane/moral during a time of societal upheaval in the US (a white-pill as Null would have it). If it meant more money, yes, Nick would pretend to be religious. Lots of Internet personalities did it, including Nick.

Hope this helps clarify things for interested parties.

Adding to your point. True, Nick is not a real Christian. He is a hedonist. He is also an alcoholic, which everyone also knows and persists in discussing. This is what is killing interest in Nick by and large. The most interesting this about Nick was his hypocrisy and denial. This was the case even before he was exposed for being a fraud and people still believed the lies (or in some cases made excuses).

Without lies (or popular trial streams) Nick is nothing, and Nick's trajectory with his fanbase over the last year reflects that. The more Nick is himself the less people care for/about him, as was the case for Perception Check in those infamous DMs.

An alcoholic lawyer with marriage woes during a midlife crisis is nothing to write home about without the contrast of who he was before. The only big thrills ahead are finding out what else Nick is hiding (where he goes and what he does). Of course finding out a sexually closeted alcoholic failed his sobriety pledge while flirting with another man in a hot tub isn't all that surprising (though it is kind of funny).

It's very common for people (especially drunk people) to vastly underestimate dosages with edibles and put themselves in a really bad place for many hours as it works its way through their digestive system. If Nick isn’t lying outright & just making stuff up, it was probably along the lines of a younger kid started vomiting & Nick had to stay with the kid so they didn’t choke on vomit in bed or whatever. Hopefully regarding a kid it was indeed a passing brief illness & nothing more dramatic.
