I accosted some homeless dude on the porch taking cigarette butts out my ash tray, then offered to roll him a smoke if he's that down and out and he refused and scampered off. Do I just look like an alpha hobo or do these creatures still feel shame?

It's mostly a mix of having no trust in people and still having some self-respect.

An example that happened to me a couple of years back was during an outing, we saw some drunk woman was verbaly moking some homeless man with her boyfriend behind her - when they left we took pity and tryed to offer the man some money so he could at least have dinner, he just insulted us and left.

This happens to them often here, especially in major cities as the night scene areas intermingle with the homeless zones, you are hard pressed to find people with less faith in others.

Thinking back there was a guy wore a bunch of jackets that randomly appeared in the most incongruous spots with some medical aid in tow, everyone colloquially called him antarctica. Trying to speak with him just resulted in schizophrenic hobospeak. Now that's a good hobo, even if he shat on my lawn.

I remember this real cunt of a hobo that was a bitch even when you tossed her change, eventually I just started giving this other guy money in front of her, and telling her I'm out of coin.
