Only other crpg I can think of that's come out in the last 10 years or so that's been worthwhile is Shadowrun: Dragonfall.

The two female characters in your group, Glory and Eiger, are also compelling in their own right, without having the writers shove a bunch of modern virtue signaling down your throat.
Shadowrun Returns legit reawoke my love for TTS games after a few years of shit happened and my friends I played with had to leave the country.

It's a fucking shame HBS is shutting down in a few weeks so no more shadowrun. Or Turn-based battletech :(

Look, it might be a weird notion, but I play videogames to play videogames. I really do not give a shit who makes it or the tranny/body type pipeline - as long as the game is fun idc.

Unless it's funny. I guess?
No, what I'm saying is the kinds of people they hired cannot filter for shit. It ruins the development of the game the more emboldened they get. Entryism plays into it, I think, it's a slow creep.

The game's so gay it's trying to rape my eyes. What a garbage UI.
It's a cluttered mess. The game's ugly gay niggery western art is even more appealing than that clusterfuck.

That's a nice idea in the abstract, maybe, but the reality is if you have a bunch of degenerate libtards making games they will almost always be trash.

Sure but I really do not give a shit if the faceless mook that makes whatever goyslop of the week it is sucks cocks or not. Unless the faggot makes it my problem by bitching in public about some shit for some eMoney.

So don't get the point I was trying to make which is not that games aren't an artform but that its pointless for gaming to try to impress the old (decaying) guard. Hollywood boomers will never take games seriously because it means admitting they're being replaced by a new medium which they don't control. This delusional imperative from devs to get recognized by sclerotic opinionators outside the industry its a waste of time, just make the games you want to instead of sucking up to people who wont ever give you the time of day.
Pretty much, specially when most "games are art" types interpret it to be either a shitty movie ora very avant garde "experience" where the objective is to old right and jump some platforms. Sometimes just being a good craftsman is all that you need, not obsessing about the flair.

Pretty much, if these retards were actually professional and were capable of keeping it in their pants, the industry wouldn't be half as bad right now.

You know what, maybe its's a controversial opinion, but I'm tentatively excited for the Jurassic Park game. Jurassic Park has had some real stinker games, but it's also had some decent ones, and a few that had promise but didn't live up to it, like Tresspasser.

I think it could potentially be good.

I think the trailer was awful. It was basically pure memberberry juice... And despite my username coming from memberberries, I recognize that can be a real toxic mindset.

But I have a lot of love for the original Jurassic Park, and I choose to be hopeful.

And Gameboy Advance but yeah Ghost Rider PS2 fucks so hard.
It's a shame that I forgot that movie tie-in game existed. The GBA one was good shit. One of the most underappreciated shovelware games

Not even that anymore, the majority are mere walking simulators now.
Some shit does come out, Gris is basically a tepid platformer with very good presentation for example snd though I didn't look too deep into it, Cocoon seems to have real gameplay, but it's all flair.

Hideo Kojima: “Hello everybody, today I would like to talk about my new game within the video entertainment medium. It is going to be a good game, which will have syllables put together and form words, as well as the ability to input actions into a controlling device that will allow the game character to respond with those inputs, as well as(continue for 30 minutes)

Geoff: “OMG This sounds awesome Kojima-San I can’t wait to play it over and over and over again while I gently stroke my life sized body pillow of you”

Larian: Hey guys, this award means so much to us and it wouldn’t be possible without the team. We’d like to dedicate this to one of our members who passed sadly-“

Geoff: “Boooo no one gives a shit about the hard work you put in, or your stupid dead team member. Get off the stage, faggots. Jarvis, play another Fortnite ad to wash the taste of that TRASH out of my mouth”

Remember any of them?

They're a Seattle-based studio, so it's no wonder they hired blue haired genderspecials.
It's been awhile, but I think they tried to hire that one tranny that threatened to kill people with baseball bats or at least someone who was friends with them and tried to push their friend in as an NPC.

They changed the name before release to remove reference to this guy from battletech.

I feel like the only reason Kojima keeps making games is because he knows he'd be eviscerated by critics and audiences if he just made movies. Kojima is the only acceptably "weird" Japanese creator to insecure western journos because he apes Hollywood's slop, rather than anything Japanese.
Kojima is what the weebs would call an Ameriboo; a lot of his games have something to do with the United States or its politics instead of just making it about global affairs, making it about Japan, or making it be about some fantasy or sci-fi place that most anime and video games do.

His writing and direction is pretentious enough to win over those same insecure game journalists who drool over Life Is Strange clones and TLOU2 type movie-games because it pushes the idea that Games are Art (Take that, dead fat movie critic thumb man!).
I'm pretty sure video games already proved themselves to be art when one considers games like Ninja Gaiden, which had cutscenes inspired by anime and film noir back in the fucking 80s, as well as all the colorful environments in video games like Mario Brothers, Castlevania, and many other games. The fact that people are still struggling to define video games as art in a time when a pile of shit can be considered art really shows me that the vidya game journalists are just insecure people.

As Sgt. Hartman said in Full Metal Jacket, ''YOU'RE SO UGLY, YOU CAN BE A MODERN ART MASTERPIECE!'' Art standards are so low that video games not qualifying to be modern art probably increases their value.

These awards are obviously a joke, but the talk about Hi-Fi Rush getting robbed made me check it out and it’s fuckin amazing.

I ignored it when it came out because I’m no good at rhythm games but I just finished it over three days and it’s one of my new favorites. I wish more games had such a strong sense of style in their art, it’s like playing a Saturday morning cartoon.

I may have said it here or somewhere else, but the focus on graphics in games to the exclusion of art direction was really the death knell for games as a whole. A game like Vagrant Story, Breath of Fire 3 (or 4 or 5) or Windwaker still has fantastic and unique art direction despite being 20 years old now. Meanwhile most modern games blend into this hyperrealistic style that is impressive at first but very uninspired and dull as you take it in over time. It also extends to the gameplay and game design itself. The 6th gen was the last generation of truly unique games and the 7th gen was the last generation where most games on any console could be said to be genuine fun (barring the rough launches of the PS3 and Xbox 360).
