I'm a backend developer and fucking despise docker so it would need to have a reasonable amount of RAM and a strong cpu, also the less gaming LEDs it has, the better. Was considering a thinkpad since i've had pretty good experiences with those ones.
 
There is none, you're going to eat shit no matter what you pick.
 
The last few laptops I've had have had issues with cooling when doing some of the dev work I do, so these days I'm looking at low-powered and portable laptops and using cloud instances for development. So, I run IntelliJ locally but I develop and test on a cloud instance. I'm not fully there yet but I think this is what the future of development looks like, especially AI and big data related work. You will own nothing and you will be happy.

Before you say "but-but-but AWS is expensive", you can still get oldschool dedicated servers and VPSes. Hetzner never went away.
