You are mixing up things. The League of Nations was a pre-WW2 thing. During the Second World War, the Allies started calling themselves the United Nations and from this came the UN as we know it, where the victors of WW2 have a superveto power - the Korean War happened by "mistake", read the history of the vote. The UN is mostly funded by the US (in theory, because the US delays payments).
It's mostly ineffective, more for show but especially to give friends of friends of unqualified people in Third World countries jobs or short missions they would never dream of. When a soldier from Nepal is chosen as a peace-keeping troop and starts getting $200 a day for a few months, that's money he would never see at home.

www.unv.org - where you can volunteer for the UN with very dubious qualifications and get the standard volunteer "stipend" or whatever it's called at around $4500. If you are a Malawi nurse earning $80 a month you'll love the UN.
Of course you have to be very woke and use terms of wokery unironically, as part of your mission preparation you will have a secret women't instruction day where you will learn how to save the environment with a menstrual cup.
You will then note the arrangements - you can only rent, "for security reasons", flats that cost a lot more but belong to the cousin of the local UN employee, etc.
So this UNRWA - the locals working there get nothing much, the actual officials with a UN laissez-passer have accounts in New York for their salary, have actual immunity and haven't done anything of substance ever.
To protect the civil population, Hamas should surrender or fire rockets away from civilian areas. The idea that Israel can't bomb because of international law is absurd.
So if 10 Palestinians take over a cruise-ship with say 1500 tourists and go around Siciliy shooting rockets at people on the beach, the Italian Navy and Airforce should just watch because they might hurt civilians?
Hamas is really trying to repeat Berlin 1945 - with me dies Germany - if they destroy us there is no point in having Aza at all - or they can still hope to show up in Russia or Qatar and live sadly in exile in their 5-star hotel.
