Do we have a Columbine thread? Because this thread is getting cluttered with discussion of Columbine rather than the pooner. Her being a fangirl of Dylan and Eric is interesting, but the thread is turning into discussion of just Columbine and how Mass shootings typically have a fuck ton of warning signs.

Do kids even feel validated by participation trophies? When I was a kid (granted this was the 90s) no one saw the little trophies we got at the end of the softball season as an accomplishment, just some commemoration that yes I indeed played softball that summer. Seemed more for the parents than us, so the team picture looked a little better with everyone holding their little trophy. I swear boomers created a moral panic over participation trophies, I saw a news story a few months ago of a state legislator proposing a law to ban them.
Current participation trophies are not like they were before. Everybody gets a diploma or a medal because it's fine to teach children the importance of participating, even if you didn't win... but we also awarded the winners and make them feel special because they were winners.

Believe it or not, a person can feel frustrated by having one but not an actual medal of victory. That also teaches a lesson.

Current day wants to get rid of that because everybody's a winner not just a participant.

I see that quite a bit in some competitions. No pressure, don't worry, there are no winners, etc. I've seen it be a good thing in the sense of achieving the effect you described, encouraging people to just participate, pick themselves up off the floor if they do badly, try again because they aren't being called retarded losers, or there isn't a massive spotlight on the winners at all times. Which, in effect, calls everyone not on the podium or top-something a fucking loser in the most socially darwinistic terms imaginable. Used to be a problem way back in the day.

But on the other hand, when taken to the extremes it's taken now it encourages dysfunctional coping mechanisms. Bar ESG and extreme nepotism, the world's gonna keep expecting people to perform to an acceptable standard, and if you were never told to FIGHT for that acceptable standard you'll end up unemployed and crying to r/antiwork.

It's especially fucked up because the way we do winners and losers now actually implies that we're simply covering up "the retards", that nobody can ever change or do better. Literally just like a boomer parent telling their child to quit giving a shit about music because they aren't Mozart but politely. Except the child fucking knows.

This is just like the Israeli-Palestine thread where when the info dries up, retards will just argue and philosophize. Happens to the best of 'em.

I mean I think it’s fine to say that school shooters aren’t silently screaming for help by bringing up other examples, the Columbine Shooters and the Stoneman Douglas shooter both kept terrible op sec and were noted by various people and the cops to be dangerous.

The discussion is still interesting, but her interest in Columbine is morphing the thread into “the Columbine parents were failures and the cops let it happen”.

Foxford has been on a roll lately. Even the way how he designed the notebook in a sealed place looks hilarious.

Only critique I'd add is that no one involved in primary school would encourage you to support JK Rowling. Pissing off the Christian fundamentalists is so 2005, doesn't outweigh supporting a "TERF" in today's environment.

Anyone currently on reddit personally murdered Aaron Swartz.

That is the kind of garbage who are now on reddit.

As much as I love this place, it strikes me more as a niche site (that's been shadowfucked by the forces that be, time and time again). Same with sites like 4chan, too...

Although I don't see it as a direct competitor to reddit, even still, we see many former redditors land here or there (at times through tor/VPN/multiple domain hoops and ladders).

Considering there HAS to be a market for it at this point, do you think reddit will ever see an actual competitor like how FB is with twitterX, or twitch is to youtube, rumble, kick etc? Now that I think about it, reddit is really the ONLY social media site that has zero real competition in its "forum style" sub genre. Unless I'm forgetting one?

I know in the olden times there was digg, but even they kind of just....went away. That's always kind of been weird to me, that they landed the "forum/information sharing social media" monopoly.

There's no demand because communication itself has degenerated. We're already past the breaking point and nobody can really see it, but this world order is not sustainable, and I'm not just talking about laws or finances and pretending culture is separate from everything else.

Headshots are rarely as gory and chunky as, say, the Ronnie McNutt video would suggest. Then again, that's what happens when the muzzle blast of a .300 Win Mag goes into your skull. 5.56×45mm at a distance is relatively nothing.
Jesus he used a .300 Win Mag? I thought it was a 12 gauge. Explains why his head exploded. I hope he didn't have anyone living upstairs that round will have gone right through his roof even after leaving his head.

No need to guess then the FBI and the DOJ doesn't have lots of love for white people after the manifesto of that SOB was released.

The Department of Justice and FBI pride themselves on being the top federal agencies to investigate and prosecute the perpetrators of hate crimes. Their zeal for tracking down racists and targeting Americans based on fabricated white supremacy allegations apparently stops, however, when it comes to classifying the type of anti-white crimes that occurred at Covenant School earlier this year.

On March 27, 2023, Audrey Hale, a woman masquerading as a man, shot and killed three children and three staff at a Christian grade school before local police took her out.

Even though the ambush bore several telltale signs of a hate crime, the identity-obsessed ruling class passed on consoling the Christians mourning the slaughter to stand in solidarity with trans-identifying Americans like Hale.

Metropolitan Nashville Police Chief John Drake told reporters shortly after the massacre that it was a “targeted attack.” However, MNPD, along with the Tennesse Bureau of Investigation and the FBI, repeatedly refused to release the manifesto detailing Hale’s motives.

Yeah. A lot of people like to say it was a shotgun for some odd reason, but based off some quick research I did, it was some sort of single-shot rifle in .300 Win Mag.

I believe he was a roommate in a one-story house. The only harm to another living thing was likely hearing damage to his dog that's seen in the video.

Muzzle blast from a .300 Win Mag under the chin is leaps and bounds away from a 5.56×45mm expanding bullet to the cranium at a distance of ten or so yards. The most that happened was maybe some fractures of the skull in addition to ground-up brain.

The demand just isn't there.

Reddit is only half a forum anyway. And it's only 10% less scrolly than other social media. It caters to Millennials and older zoomers, who remember how the internet used to be, and whose brains haven't fully atrophied from constant dopamine injections. Hardly the saviour of forum culture, though.

From now on, forums will remain niche, and sometimes be marginalised and persecuted like this one. The format will be seen as a haven for maldjusted incel autists, and the sad part is that that assessment isn't even entirely wrong. And give it 5, 10 more years and you'll get the stink eye just for reading or writing anything longer than a poorly-composed tweet.

Would it have leaked earlier if she said continually negative things about niggers and brownies? Speaking of which, I also love the self-centred logic (which comes first from niggers) that wacism only happens when it's against coloured folks. And even then there's a hierarchy where niggers are the absolute worst person a wacist can target. Browns, yellows and red-skins are second-class to nigger oppression.

I wonder how much more common TIF violence will be since we all know how testosterone is usually cited as one of, if not the leading reason why gender statistics on violence have a huge disparity between men and women.

I've shot a deer with a .300 Win Mag rifle and it turned every organ in the chest cavity into undifferentiated soup. It's a hell of a round.

Everyone expressing disbelief at the authenticity of the manifesto has never met school shooter fangirls. They absolutely talk and act like that.

Also, law enforcement tends not to release evidence of crimes that are being actively investigated. The fact that they haven't yet released everything for your entertainment doesn't mean there is a big gay conspiracy.
