Aren't those organized and handled by third party groups that just get approval from Valve to host sale events?
Sweet Baby is a third party group although I don't know how it would make Valve a client of theirs in this case. They might handle all the associated "legwork." Now that this is a thing, I wonder if Valve might clarify.

LOL, Anita must be SEETHING under her bridge at these fuckers getting her dream grift off the ground.

God knows I've bitched about it multiple times in the Comics Sperging thread, but an example is the Preacher TV adaptation. Tulip is one of the main characters, a white woman whose story with her father is one of the best and most positive progressive messages I've ever seen: the dad is this big, super macho, guns and meat, "women sure are dumb huh?", chauvinist guy. So much so, his wife is pregnant and in the hospital giving birth, and he's at the bar with his friends; he doesn't even know what the baby will be, because he's such a MAN, he could only ever produce a SON, right? The wife dies in childbirth, and the baby is a girl.
He goes to the hospital and holds his daughter for the first time, and...
"That needn't be so bad"
From that point on, his entire worldview changes; he's still a macho guy, but he now sees women as people, and does his best to raise his daughter right, to give her all the skills she needs, and prepare her for a world he now recognizes tends to treat women not so well.
Then he dies in an absurd accident.
Still, everything he did made Tulip into a real strong female character, a woman who is smart, capable, and resourceful, while still being fallible and human.

The TV show? She's now black (or mixed anyway, she's played by Ruth Negga), and a strong female character, but the kind that RLM would describe; her introduction is literally doing some absurd action movie shit, I think it was a car chase that ends with her blowing up a helicopter or something.
And of course, her father is black (and her mother a white prostitute), who went to prison when Tulip was a baby, and once he's out, the first thing he does is get into a shootout with the cops and BRINGS THE SHOOTOUT TO THE HOTEL ROOM WHERE HIS DAUGHTER IS, ENDANGERING HER and of course he dies in the process.

So they could have adapted a wonderful character piece that shows exactly the kind of progressive message you'd think they'd want to show, a bad man becoming good by changing his perspective about how the world treats women, and they could have done all that with the guy being black, the race change wasn't the problem; but instead they reinforced the worst stereotypes about both black men and female characters.
God this just pisses me off... but not surprised, Tulip's dad in the comics is what a MAGA american would look like and those can never be seen on a good light. since Garth is the walking contradiction of a guy that respects the military yet votes democrat and wants to be a good little progressive probably went with it all even though they removed Tulip and made up some sheeboon instead.

Does she also constantly emmasculate Jesse and is he a weak willed cuck that does everything she says? And how did they ruin Cassidy, Arseface, Starr and the Saint of Killers?

Does she also constantly emmasculate Jesse and is he a weak willed cuck that does everything she says?
Kind of, but there's bigger problems going on with Jesse in the show; because they changed the whole start of the show in a way that has everyone faffing about for a whole season before they reach the point equivalent to the end of the first issue, but also wastes the Meat Guy's plotline way too early. In short, Jesse is a much weaker character that starts out broken and resigned to faithlessly preach in a small town.

And how did they ruin Cassidy, Arseface, Starr and the Saint of Killers?
Cassidy, well, I really like the actor, Joseph Gilgun, but it's simply not Cassidy. If you've seen Gilgun in Misfits season 3+, it's just Rudy, but nastier. I enjoyed this Rudissidy, but that's again because I like the actor.
I also like the Jesse actor but not enough to like his take on Jesse.

Arseface gets kind of fucked. I don't remember much but in trying to give him more to do they end up sending him to Hell and he pals around with (a surprisingly sympathetic) Hitler for a while.

I recall Starr was decent.
Saint of Killers was handled well. His introduction scene (a telling of his origin which repeats over and over, because he's in hell being tortured by replaying his tragedy to him continuously) is very well done.

But I dropped the show when Tulip's Dad happened. I had stuck around out of curiosity, but that was the last straw, I didn't even finish the episode (season 3 episode 1, I think). Everything decent in it may have been ruined after I stopped, for all I know. In fact, I expect it.

Anyway don't let me derail the thread more than this.

Don't forgetti.

Oh look, the Jewish pedophile is trying hard to blackwash herself into looking less white and more like a minority. Every. Fucking. Time. Also:

LOL! LMAO even.

I was looking forward to Hyper Light Breaker, but I can see they also did some shit for that. If anything, their website helps find which games to avoid.

What they mean by "empathic and inclusive" hardly counts as a story at all. The thing woke writers just can't get about good storytelling is that it has to have some form of realism that your audience can relate to.
You made me think about why dysfunctional family sitcoms were popular, they can be jerks but they were also relatable jerks. Al Bundy is not a role model but you're a liar if you're going to say you never shared his frustrations and there's a reason why The Simpsons resonated with people outside of America.

Well, "Sweet Baby Story" is a pretty good buzzword if I do say so myself.
I'll vet an upcoming game and go "Nah. Looks like a Sweet Baby Story to me.".

Why? I can't remember the exact details but I remember them pulling some shit in the gamergate days.
Pretty sure it involved Zoe Quinn directly but it's all hazy.

Will Breaker even have writing? I can see Drifter's "show, but never, ever tell" story telling working fine for a roguelite.

Did they lock their twitter after Soyman 2 got released?
They are on protected ever since that thread on /v/ exposed them. They are also blocking anybody that mentions them in a negative light on Twitter.

Is there an archive of the thread because it sounds interesting.

Also wtf is that name SweetBaby Inc that sounds like they sell diapers and pacifiers for infants instead of woke writers.

To be fair, with their level of writing I think anyone but an actual baby would be offended by it. I do agree with you on that name, something tells me there might be pedophilic double entendre here
