Where I live the nearest town is that far away. I live in unincorporated America. I have to drive more than half an hour to get somewhere that has a local government. The town I go to for groceries has less than 2,500 people in it and I can get a good selection of cheese and fresh bread and whatever type of cured meat I want.

20-30 minutes from your nearest neighbor is optimal. But 20-30 minutes from a 'town' is acceptably close.

We may not have high-quality ingredients and other shit in any local grocery we can walk to.

But we have CARS N SHEEEEEEIT and we can just drive to wherever we like and get everything from EVERYWHERE in the goddamn world, because we're Americans and basically OWN the world, so I can go get phenomenal tomatoes flown in directly from Israel (like at Balducci's right next to Greenwich Village), buffalo mozzarella and basil straight from Italy, balsamic vinegar of Modena (also from Italy) and just nom down on some awesome salad caprese.

If you're an American, you literally own the world and all the food.

Let's take a moment of silence just to enjoy the ambiance of being an American, literally the King of the World.
 
:smug: just grabbed some goyloaf and goyshreds on the way home from my job at the goynugget factory and I am going to have myself a simply delectable little sandwich for dinner with toasted goyloaf covered in miracle whip and ranch dressing, goymustard (bright yellow and extra vinegary) boiled and sliced goydogs and goyshreds melted on top. Then some goytchup on top to finish it all off. Europeans can not even imagine eating this good.
