Jesus was brown. Period. Go to bethlehem look at the people...that's what jesus looked like..maybe slightly ligher complexion due to Muslims moving in later and darkening people a bit but no jesus was not white in the sense that of what we think of whiteness...white people come from homo sapiens mating with neanderthals in northern Europe . That's the prevailing theory anyway. Also why were the only ones with non black hair in our genes. So in a sense white people are the mongrels of the human race, which is fine.

You know as far as the Africans sailing to America I bet you what they heard was the theory of the Polynesians sailing to America from across the Pacific (samoans, Hawaiian s, etc) there is some evidence of that, but in South America, in chile. They probably are just assuming Polynesians are black.

Nope. I went and looked it up. There really is a wacky theory floating around that it was black Africans crossing the Atlantic in dugout canoes.

In 1311 AD, another major wave of African exploration to the New World was led by King Abubakari II, the ruler of the fourteenth century Mali Empire, which was larger than the Holy Roman Empire. The king sent out 200 ships of men, and 200 ships of trade material, crops, animals, cloth and crucially African knowledge of astronomy, religion and the arts.

African explorers crossing the vast Atlantic waters in primitive boats may seem unlikely, or perhaps, far fetched to some. Such incredible nautical achievements are not as daunting as they seem, given that
numerous successful modern attempts have illustrated that without an oar, rudder or sail ancient African boats, including the “dug-out,” would certainly have been able to cross the vast ocean in a matter of weeks.

Well that's the thing...it is possible..highly unlikely but not impossible, like i said the Polynesians may have crossed the Pacific in canoes and it's a much bigger ocean. But wheres the proof..you can't just pull shit out of your ass without evidence..moh wait these people probably would consider that privilege or that the white man destroyed it to hide the glorious black heritage...what I don't get is there are plenty of black empires and kings they could be proud of...hell mansa munsa might be the richest person to have ever lived, go learn about him don't just make up shit or try and say you built the pyramids.

I was told there were Carthaginians to enslave, but all I got were black people who don't know history or anthropology.

Carthagianians were just Phoenician (Semite) settlers. Now you know where most Phoenicians were located? The Fertile Cresent all the way to Spain. Basically, they were Semetic speaking deigos and sandpeople.
Black people that were living in North Africa back then were most likely a result of the Arab slave trade, or had lived there since pre-history. A black Carthaginian was about as likely a high standing member as if they were in Rome, who assimilated hundreds of different nationalities, obliterating all culture that was not Roman.

Calling Carthaginians black is like calling Egyptians black. Sure there were some of both who were black, because it was a multiracial empire, but if you look at Tunisians today (or Egyptians or most North Africans) they're fairly light skinned. They're not white, but they're not black either. It is true that there were people from all over who fought for the Carthaginians, but that also included Gauls and you don't hear that many French people claiming to be Carthaginians. I think national mysticism can be pretty silly (of all kinds), stop pretending to be someone you aren't and start being a cool person.

Maghreb coast is 6-7 on the (UV) index, 4-5 points below the tropics. These Afrocentric loons are ignorant of climate and geography. The modal skin complexion in the ancient Maghreb coastal region would have been a bronze/light brown colour, not dark brown.

You can see on that map north Egypt is UV index 8-9, while south Egypt 10-11.

The modal ancient Upper Egyptian would have had dark brown skin ('black'), but its rather debatable whether you can call ancient Lower Egyptians who had a lighter, medium brown skin shade also "black". You run into the same problem with Europe, where skin colours corresponding to 4-5 on that map aren't exactly "white", but an olive, tan or pale-brown colour.

"You know, I'm fairly sure that central, western, eastern and southern Africa all have really rich and interesting histories just waiting to be discovered if only you'd-"

"NAW MAN! We was Kings in Carthage and Egypt!"

That's true, the kingdom of Ife in Nigeria and the Aksumite empire are fascinating in and of themselves, not to mention Great Zimbabwe, but these chuckleheads focus on the stuff more known to the west.

Basically it boils down to this.

"Guys there is a distinctly Eurocentric narrative, in 20th and 19th century historical writing, this has led some people to assume that European history is the only history worth studying. Any suggestions as to how we could introduce new historical perspectives."

"We could look at Archaeological evidence and oral tradition to piece together the history of less developed nations."

"We could translate texts in Chinese and Japanese and see if our own western perspective can be applied to them."

"We can make up badly informed and badly sourced bullshit and claim that anyone who doesn't believe or in anyway questions our outlandish and frankly racist theories is themselves a racist."

"Option number three sounds good, lets go with that."

Addendum 1: Many of these people don't understand that many actual Africans would find this assessment actually offensive. The idea that Egyptians and Carthaginians came from central Africa would go down about as well with many Africans as it is going down here.

Addendum 2: Whats up with all this 'White People' are neanderthals bullshit. Not only were the Neanderthals dominant in most of the middle east there is also very little evidence of successful interbreeding. Also other humanoid species occupied Africa at the same time as modern humans.

Addendum 3: Morgan Freeman was in part right, you stop talking about history in a racial context it ceases to be a problem. Allot of this stems from the fact that much of these people's historical education, has been focused on relating history to them on a racial level. There is a strand of teaching philosophy that believes far to greatly in personal response and linking history to the modern day. This has the affect of making people when confronted with history that they find difficult to identify with in a usual Tumblrite manner [Ie: did this person share my skin colour, sexual orientation, or pronouns] simply attempt to change history to suit their narrative.

Addendum 4: Or in the case of Black Athena, shitstir like a pro. And write a number of other books off the controversy. Eventhough it was written in 80's Black Athena and its sequel were like the Ghostbusters Reboot of the PaeloNet.

What the fuck is this Plebian shit from the Nubians? The idea of our rivals in Carthage thinking in such barbarian terms as 'race' is a damning sign of their moral depravity as opposed to civilized Romans, even the degenerate Parthians and necrophilliac Egyptians know better than this stupid race shit. If anything they'd have been from Berber stock anyway and nobody gave a fuck about your complexion as long you showed the correct Roman virtues,

No wonder the place got demoted to a pile of salt.

Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's and then the Romans wouldn't torch your village, regardless of your race. Truly, the Romans knew how to do things fam.

Funnily enough, the entire reason Carthage existed is because Dido (a hysteric lolcow fleeing Phoenicia) tricked a dumb nigger king there into surrendering a huge portion of land by manipulating an ox hide. This became the city of Carthage. She later killed herself to avoid becoming said nigger's wife because being a nigger he threatened to chimp out and destroy the city if he couldn't get white woman.

Yeah, sometime shortly before that Boom De Yada shit Discovery and History realized there is more money in making memes and reality shows then making documentaries that are more or less truthful. See: Ancient Aliens and any show about people in the wilderness with beards.

I remember something similar. So there was this post on tumblr where they discovered that here's a picture of Mozart! ANd it's a black man and they wet and spread the word that Mozart was black.

But then, it was discovered, that the man was in fact, not Mozart, but a DIFFERENT musician at the same time period, that was black.

And then, no one talkeda bout it any more.

The comments box seems to be full of people who don't realize that Hannibal failed and died.
"Naw dawg, he be crossing them Alps and double enveloping Romans and shit at Cannae!"
