it's not inherently a shitty thing to say but since it's patrick, it absolutely is. i can see some laid back boomer type from the American south going "love 'ya, hun" in a situation like this, and it could be endearing... if they love each other, care about each other, and don't spend over half their marriage rebuffing a cult of stalker terrorists on the internet.

I’ve enjoyed the long reviews of his books. Pat’s lawsuit was born from 1 star reviews on Good Reads that had to be from stalker children and not because he writes crappy sci-fi. Thanks to the long discussions of his books in this thread and the multimedia one it’s clear he deserved a lot of those lower scores.

Pat the builder is also great. Whether it’s putting up a fence backwards or making horrible deck chairs he’s a wizard at making a mess out of simple tasks.

I also love the court stuff. Getting to hear him mouth off to a judge and his dumb lawyers in the action against Quasi are magical.

I think it's the use of 'wife' that makes it seem so cold. If he'd wrote 'love you, babe' or something it'd be cringe but fine, but the only context I'd expect to hear a man use 'wife' like this is if he was some 1950s caricature. 'Why isn't dinner on the table, wife?', 'wife, get in here now.' etc.

I'm now wondering if Pat uses 'wife' for Nikki the way he uses 'child' for people on Twitter. 'No wife, you will not use the strap-on on me this evening. Your marriage is already over, enjoy the bull.'

I envy you, if you haven't listened to the Josiah tapes, you're in for a treat, there's also Torque Wheeler, Big Dick Andrew and the failed restraining order, and then you also have the spin offs in the Pativerse, Snackie Jackie the streetshitter, Shane 'Butterknife' Nokes and the autistic Icelander Jon Frimann.

I’m always puzzled by the “child” addendum with every post. Is this something that’s extensively in his literature too? Why is he obsessed with children? So many questions. I still can’t understand why any woman would stay with him, he’s got to be fucking gaslighting her and lying to her hard. You can’t fail this much at life and have a woman stick around, she will leave.

Even his legal paper was him thinking he was having his avengers moment against the evil stalker thanos childs and was the legal equivalent of picard giving an epic speech to make the bad guy go away and turn the situation in his favor.
