What makes me smirk is that she think she's grown out of being part of the Bitch patrol on fanfiction sites when she's just changed the labels. And joined the bigger bully group.

Most of Channel Awesome have fallen pretty low or were questionable. I only watch Cinema Snob and Phelous (who may not be considered with them anymore? I don't know) lately because they have mostly avoided the cesspool and have, well, professionalism and a decent knowledge of what they're dealing with. They mostly avoid stupid plotlines unless it's a parody of the stupid plotline trope that runs through some reviewers' things and terrible effects are deliberate parody (such as their Foodfight review with Lupa, mocking the shitty quality of said film).

I used to watch Linkara and Nostalgia Critic, but the skits pissed me off. People are there to watch a review of a shitty thing, not see stupid fanfiction of your self-insert and the devil doing stupid shit involving watching the movie or comic book. I'll still watch some older stuff that I found interesting or funny, such as the whole thing with One More Day.

Used to watch Nostalgia Chick, too, but tapped out years ago, before her going full SJW. Someone earlier commented thinking her going full SJW in a few days was sudden. I'd argue that she had been creeping toward it for a while before the whole GamerGate thing started up. She's been a flavor of third-wave feminist for years prior and it's not too far a jump from third-wave feminist to SJW. Third wavers are almost entirely classifiable by the "radfem" label, defined by the belief in the patriarchy conspiracy theory. It's not too hard for someone to transfer that to other things, like the idea of a straight equivalent of patriarchy ("heteronormative" something or other).
 
Wouldn't it be easier to have a Channel Awesome containment thread?

The short version was she ended up on the bad side of the guy who runs Channel Awesome for the Walkers, and he used her missing a Skype call as an excuse to fire her.
 
Did the incident with Spoony happen before or after Lupa was fired?

I didn't pay a lot of attention to the TWTG people but I remember hearing that the Spoony incident really split the TWTG fanbase badly and the resulting drama put a major target on Lupa's ass. It all happened on social media so I don't know if Lupa was still with the site or not.

I wouldn't know. I have not spoken to her or Todd since they showed up at my fathers memorial service uninvited (and prior to that it had been years since I spoke to either one of them).

Incidentally, they showed up because I "sounded like I needed a friend" - ie they literally showed up at someones memorial service to earn brownie points.

To fill the info gap, Phelan got on someones bad side after it was revealed that they were continuing to use his 3D intro animation without his permission (and they also were using Skitch's music intro without permission as well). He apparently went through some bullshit about his 3D effects being bad (as compared to Dougs effects or some shit). IDK I was long gone by that time.

I had forgotten about the shit grinder Lupa went through as well. Its pretty fucked up to expect someone to be available at a certain time on just any random day. You plan meetings like that ahead of time. That was just an excuse (a poor one) to remove an influence they didn't want around anymore.

Two more average people that escaped and succeeded on their own. The list grows.

IIRC, it might've been over the fx in To Boldly Flee not being up to snuff (because Phelan intended for them to look like that).

Might be a good solution, but here's some food for thought :
I think a CA thread in Multimedia might be a better solution than a Community Watch lolcow thread. Why? Because with threads about content producers like this, a lot of the times when there either isn't a steady output of actual *Lolcow* content, the lolcow-y content takes a backseat to casual chatter about the content that these people produce. And that's something that has a lot of times alienated people who come for the Lolcow content instead of y'know, people talking about the content that they used to produce.

However, the content with reviewer types is so intertwined with the reasons why they're a lolcow it's nigh-inseparable and that can lead to thread stagnation where people begin to discuss the content said people are producing for pages upon pages when the well is dry with actual cow content.

It would also allow people to discuss goings-on with Channel Awesome people who aren't considered Lolcows without said discussion being off topic fat clogging the discussion about the more eccentric people.
