All discussion of the candidates, updates and results should go here

For example- here's a video of Ted Cruz vying for world domination.

Also Hilary Clinton is a crook and nobody should have sex with her.

Discuss

God damn it. I had made myself overly optimistic he was trying genuine outreach.
Less than 30 black people in a town of over a thousand people looks like a pointless place to go and make a pitch to black voters about the failings of the Democrats. Philly would have been a better place since he insists on trying to siphon votes out of Democratic party strongholds like Connecticut.
Speaking of that... what the hell is he going to Mississippi for? And why am I still expecting his destinations to make any electoral sense?

I mean, it's a suburb of Lansing which is not that horrible for being exclusively white, but anywhere Lansing would still be a baffling choice because it's a smallish state capital most people can't even point out on a map. If you were actually trying to flip Michigan by appealing to the black vote you'd be campaigning in Detroit or at least Flint.

But doesn't Louisiana always vote Republican? It's not like Louisiana is a heavily contested purple state.

When it comes to Presidents Louisiana tends to vote Republican, but it's hardly a red state. For one thing the current governor is a Democrat, and the New Orleans area is a heavy Democrat stronghold. We also have a Senate seat up for grabs with no incumbent in the running (and because we don't do primaries this is going to be a free for all with over a dozen candidates running). While I wouldn't be shocked if Trump won the state, the real fight is going to be over all the Congress races, which can go either way for the most part.

So this is apparently what Trump distributed to the homeless victims of the flooding:
CqRAfgbUIAAOxVz.jpg
What, are they gonna eat it? Maybe build a levee out of it?

I get that there's baby food in there too, but maybe dedicate -all- the truck space to that sort of thing.
To be fair, a lot of the victims were children so giving them new toys (since they're obviously all destroyed) to keep them happy while they wait for Louisiana to de-fuck itself isn't all that dumb.

So why exactly has political discourse in America devolved to this? Here is people leaving a Trump fundraiser.

It's always been like this. Trump just has a special way of pissing off the far left in a way that simply exacerbates what was already there.

What do you mean it was always like this? Did the left always have a bloodthirsty hatred of the right that was barely contained? Did fights, flag burning, blockades, harassment, happen regularly in every previous election? Because I don't think I ever heard about it.

People are dividing themselves up more and more the past few years, shit like this is pretty inevitable. When a country's leader is meant to unify the people, and the choices we're down to are somebody like Trump who brings out anger and vitriol from so many groups; or someone like Hillary who is seen as untrustworthy and completely corrupt, things aren't looking good.

There has always been a lot of animosity between the parties, but these last few years have gotten much worse.

I gotta say, I'm impressed with Steve Bannon's finesse in the PR department. Trump hasn't gone off script like he is want to do in the past week, but the script itself is pure Breitbart. If you read that shitrag as much as I do (I am a masochist) you start to pick up on what they're actually doing. Calling them racist, sensationalist, xenophobic, etc is one thing. They are all of that shit. But they preach it in an extremely cunning way: They always leave themselves an out.

Being openly racist isn't how you build a media company (not a successful one anyway), nor is it how you influence the public. What Breitbart does is it gives itself an aura of plausible deniability. "I'm not racist but...", that kinda shit. If they get called out on this they can just point to those half assed "everybody's human!" rhetorical techniques to both deflect criticism and claim that the PC gestapo is out to get them for telling "the truth".

Trump's last few speeches have done that in the most obvious way ever. He preaches to the black community (condescendingly I might add) and then follows it up with an avalanche of thinly veiled assaults on the entire concept of civil rights. This isn't even targeted at black people, it's meant to win over moderate whites or people who are disturbed by Trump's more white nationalist sentiments. "You can vote for a racist (who isn't racist by the way) while not being a racist (but black people still suck)" Package racism in a way that requires analysis to explain to people. And if there's anything people should know about American politics it's this: if you can't sum up your point in a short sentence people won't get it. So while the left is scrambling around trying to build an argument that Trump is racist the white people Trump is aiming this shit at see him say "I think black people are okay!" and think "gee, that's nice, he can't be all bad!".

So yes, from what I've seen so far, Bannon is one fucking hell of a smooth operator. I was expecting him to let Trump be Trump and drive his campaign into the ground. Instead he's letting Trump be Breitbart. And dear god it might actually work. The liberal media didn't even know how to respond to this torrent of bullshit this week. It was all see through as hell, but they were at a loss for words. How do you even begin to pick this apart concisely? How can Don Lemon possibly explain what's going on in his head when he sees this shit? He can only scoff while Trump goes smirking into the sunset.

I assume Bannon has Ivanka hostage somewhere incase Trump stops reading the teleprompter also.

Aparently Trump also plans to release an amnesty plan lol. Again its not for actual Hispanics, its to pander to "moderate" ish republicans.

You know, the reason I want this Trump Presidency so bad is because my country has been in the shit politically for a long time. My father actually works for one of the political parties, and I, myself, have abandoned it.

Would you think I am into anarchy? Why else would I want this Presidency so bad despite how insane/awesome it gets?

No. My first memories of America were wonderful, and it hasn't been that way since 1995. Long before characters like Obama and GWB came into the picture. I lived in America for a few years starting in 1999, and America wasn't the same then.

But anyway, while this thread has become 100% anti-Trump (hence why I have stopped appearing much), the real fact is, despite whatever stupid poll you guys continue to use, Trump is still having a fair shot at this.

NONE OF US ARE THINKING ITS A SHOO-IN THOUGH!

I had to type that in all caps for emphasis. It CERTAINLY IS in favor for HRC at the moment, but the time bomb for her is just ticking away. Her health problems are real, but people just don't want to see it. Some have said about Trump's bad debate skills, but will HRC even have the strength anyway?

Whatever, despite your views, better continue expecting the Trump Presidency to happen. I'm expecting the Clinton Presidency to happen.

I'm starting to wonder, are you literally Hillary's campaign manager?
