just checked, you can buy a 100-pack of CDs for 40 euros on amazon, with inkjet printable surface so you can put custom designs on them too. empty cases go for ~25 euros per 50 pieces on the same site, and custom inlays for that are literally just sheets of paper you could print at home if you wanted one.

and those are all consumer prices, a business doing this professionally at large scale would have access to much better rates

They'd be using actual presses, not consumer products (laser etching), so two or three companies are raping Fat's "profits" (lol, like anyone is buying this shit).

Plus, he has to pay for the reader, likely residuals for them, and the years of therapy and suicide prevention services they would require after reading an entire Tomlinson novel out loud. That's where the costs really add up.

Properly replicated CDs (from a glass master, not shit CDRs that die in a few years) with the case and printed inlay, folded, assembled and shrink-wrapped ready for sale are between $1.50 and $2.50 each depending on how many you order and how fancy the packaging is.

In other words, more than a paperback, and approaching the production cost of a fucking hardback. Considering only shitlords buy his books, I doubt the initial run of CD's have been sold, which means the only profits have gone to the publishers and manufacturers. PAT only sees money once production costs are met. That's how royalties work. Most likely he's never seen a red cent from CD sales

The best part of this is that I now know who Dan Mullen is, relative to the Patosphere, because I kept thinking it had something weird to do with the former UF coach.
