I regret having bought the 3ds port, not the 3d version just the port, back in the day due to learning how they basically stole it from Daisuke Amaya. Especially with how Nicalis is literally worse than Nintendo when it comes to Cease and Desists considering how they don't even own the rights to the original game Daisuke made nearly two decades ago now.

The piece of shit wont even let people make games based on the original code that he doesn't own.

Nicalis, the company who stole the IP and is responsible for every port of it, won't, Daisuke, the man who single handedly made everything in the game originally, on the other hand I am positive would be all for it considering he assisted Aeon Genesis in the original fan translation.

People have tried to use decompiled code from Daisuke like the Cave Story Engine 2 but that was taken down by Nicalis. By all accounts, the owner of the company is an utter piece of shit.

At least Edmund supposedly left and is going to be releasing Mewgenics sometime next year.

I've heard rumors that for some reason Daisuke and the founder of Nicalis are on good terms but I think it mostly just stems from how Daisuke is Japanese and we all know how business is with them. Though this is getting off topic now.
