All discussion of the candidates, updates and results should go here

For example- here's a video of Ted Cruz vying for world domination.

Also Hilary Clinton is a crook and nobody should have sex with her.

Discuss

(Note- The title will change as we get nearer the election, previous titles will be archived in the OP)

I'm actually interested in what Hillary/Bernie supporters think will happen if Trump got the Presidency. Do you think he would actually build a giant wall and be able to get Mexico to pay for it? Do you think he would declare himself Furher and dissolve congress? Do you think he will fire the entire American Nuclear Arsenal into America's enemies? Do you think he will start WWIII?

I've just never really heard from people how he would totally screw the entire world. In fact I think after Americas actions over the past 50 year in geopolitical and financial spheres, have been doing a pretty good job by themselves.

He wouldn't have become Hitler but this two weeks made clear he can be auto destructive and be a pain in the ass for the same people that are trying to help him to win the election. I suppose that a federal government that waste time and resources fighting with itself would not be the best option for many people.

They need a real reinvention, and to find new votes. If the Republicans could drop just a few things from their shit list they could actually be doing much better even without gerrymandering.

-Gays tend to be of higher socioeconomic status and economically conservative. But for many their only option for years has been to vote Democrat over the party that keeps pushing bullshit like conversion therapy and trying to keep them from marrying. If the Republicans dropped that and instead embraced groups like the Log cabin Republicans I could see a lot of gays, particularly men, switching from the Democrats.

-Hispanics tend to be conservative and would probably approve of some of the Republicans ideas, but many feel alienated by the party. The "build the wall" chant is only the latest message that says in not-so subtle terms that the Republicans do not see them as "real" Americans, or often even as people.

-Muslims are the situation of the gays and Hispanics combined (higher socioeconomic status and culturally conservative). But they look at the bigotry they get from the Republicans and see the Democrats as their only option.

These three groups could probably be swayed to vote Republican in the future, but if the party tries to campaign for their votes or even ease up on the rhetoric they risk angering their base. It's a gamble for sure, but it's a gamble that the party might have to make.

Absolutely, same thing with Southern blacks, which, quite frankly, are the majority of the black population in the United States. To generalize, the majority of them are highly conservative. They are family oriented, extremely religious, pro second amendment, prolife and, while this might bother some, they have an extremely out of date view on homosexuality (punks, as they like to call them lol)

But they have been voting Democrat since the days of FDR and his New Deal politics. It doesn't help the fact that Democratic ads placed on typically black radio stations play ads that say "if such and such Republican candidate wins, he WILL bring back slavery!!"

I thought this was bullshit at first, as well. My mother told me years ago that they would play radio ads like that and I didn't believe it until I heard it, word for word, with my own ears. Not to mention, and I'm not trying to generalize again, but I spoke with a black coworker during the 2012 Romney/Obama election and he truly believed, with all his heart, that the Republican Party was the group pushing for more abortions. This gentleman was very, very deep into his faith, and a registered Democrat, yet he had no idea that the American Democratic Party is basically always on the side of prochoice.

Trump targeted whites and set the record for most primary votes in the history of the GOP. You don't need to capitulate to shitty brown people to win elections.
Mexicans, blacks, and muslims will never vote majority right until they're a majority of the population.

Let's crunch the numbers. Reagan's landslide in 1980 was impressive, but having taken 56 % of the white vote helped. Romney took home 57 % of the same vote but lost to a scote of 332 to 206. But yes, the power of the hispanic vote is overvalued due to most hispanics living in stronghold states. I wonder how come the GOP can't hack it with only appealing to one group. Its not like diversification of your brand helped...

Let's not forgot about Bush. He got a big part of the Latino vote. Though, he's got them in his family so that helped. That and Texas, where most of them live. A lot of Latinos loved him as governor of Texas. The middle class, established Latinos who might have been born in Mexico but immigrated young, started a family in the U.S. and have kids that are thoroughly Americanized are a lot more likely to vote Republican than some of the others. They are quite conservative themselves.

That reminds me of a clip I saw on youtube of this Mexican bitch telling a reporter about "If a dictator can give me food, and give me housing, I'm going to support that dictator!" She was indeed a "specimen". I'm a mild mannered person normally, but that dumb cunt was enraging. She needed to get the fuck out of here with that nonsense.

Oh thats everywhere. The funny part is not only is it true people think like that, you often see the longer lasting autocracy's last for ages so long as you have enough bread and circuses. Although in North Korea's case, enough time to brainwash your people to think that the damned Americans and imperialist west are preventing dear leader from giving them more than half of one work day's rations for a whole family.

That guy who was on the cooking shows, now he travels around eating stuff, Anthony Bordain, was on the Opie and Anthony radio show as a guest one time. I used to not mind him, he's interesting, little too far left for me but that doesn't bother me. Until that time, on O&A he said Hugo Chavez was a "benevolent dictator" that took great care of his people. That was a real head scratcher.

It is a funny thing, and very relevent to this election. The people who have no clue what the fuck they're talking about are the ones who speak with the most authority. Like their stupidity is a groundbreaking experement.

Taking a quick look at r/the_donald and how those idiots eat up literally everything this guy says, I'm curious what the reaction is going to be when Trump inevitably loses. They've already gone down the conspiracy rabbit hole, I can only imagine insanity will follow.

They'll make birthers and truthers look like well-reasoned intellectuals. I've ever heard a few saying they will move to Mexico, or their state will secede.

Do you think some of the more extreme Trump fans would resort to violence?

I'd bet on it. Probably only of the type where ten or more of them beat and murder a lone unarmed low-level government employee or woman in a hijab and then congratulate themselves on how tough and brave they are.

Oh and what do we have here?

Trump campaign launches drive to recruit 'election observers'

http://www.politico.com/story/2016/08/donald-trump-election-observers-226981

Donald Trump's campaign is seeking to recruit "election observers" following the Republican nominee's repeated claims that the general election is "rigged."

In a move that's unprecedented in a presidential election, the campaign late this week launched a page on its website proclaiming, "Help Me Stop Crooked Hillary From Rigging This Election! Please fill out this form to receive more information about becoming a volunteer Trump Election Observer."
So now he's outright trying to recruit thugs to intimidate Democratic voters away from the polls. I assume it'll just be standing orders of "White's only."

I can only imagine the most disgruntled and crazy Trump fans resorting to violence, not because they're Trump fans but because they were probably crazy and disgruntled prior to Trump's Presidential Race.

Trump spokeswoman: Afghanistan was 'Obama’s war'

http://www.politico.com/story/2016/08/trump-spokeswoman-afghanistan-was-obamas-war-226983

Donald Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson on Saturday morning said the 2001 invasion of Afghanistan was "Obama's war."

During an interview with CNN's Victor Blackwell, Pierson was asked about the GOP nominee's comments on President Barack Obama as the founder of ISIS, and if they were sarcastic, as Trump had subsequently claimed.

Pierson said it was up to the interpreter, but that Trump didn't mean Obama or Clinton founded ISIS in the literal sense, "they didn't file the paperwork of incorporation," she said.

"If you want to go way back, we can look at the troop surge. And after 2007, al Qaeda was essentially in ashes,” she said. “It was Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton who then destroyed the entire rollout by wanting to pull out early, announcing their plans, ignoring intelligence and that is the reason why ISIS is a global issue and not a ...”

Blackwell interrupted Pierson, asking if she said “Barack Obama in 2004."

She replied no, and added: “I said afterwards. After the surge when al Qaeda was in ashes. Entering Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton — remember we weren’t even in Afghanistan by this time. Barack Obama went into Afghanistan creating another problem. It was Hillary Clinton and her incidents in Libya, which was also a reckless decision to create that vacuum. They armed the rebels and they're even funding them now.”

Following her statement, Blackwell proceeded to ask if Pierson was saying Obama took the country into Afghanistan post-2009.

"What I'm saying is the policies of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton — that was Obama’s war, yes,” Pierson said.

Earlier this month, Pierson said it was the policies of Obama and Clinton that killed Army Capt. Humayun Khan. Khan was killed in 2004 during the George W. Bush presidency. Trump has recently claimed that Obama was the founder of ISIS, and has said ISIS would give Clinton an "MVP award."

On Saturday afternoon, Pierson appeared to blame the gaffe on technical problems in the CNN studio, tweeting: "For the record, audio disruptions and echos should be fixed immediately. Especially when you say it out loud on the air. @CNN"

Later in the segment, Blackwell fact-checked Pierson's statement, saying that troops invaded Afghanistan in 2001 under President George W. Bush.

He also clarified that ISIS was first created in 2004 as al Qaeda in Iraq and then morphed into the Islamic State in Iraq in 2006.

"ISIS came out of the Obama side of the war," Pierson said. "This is also Obama saying they were the JV team. Again, the incompetence of even recognizing the threat while he was in office. And then to make it worse, going into Libya and creating a vacuum, leaving all those weapons behind, essentially arming the enemy

I think I'm done with politics for this year. I think I had an out of body expereance, and the only way to return to my body was promise not to keep subjecting myself to this.

He's preemptively thrown the entire party base under the bus while using the specter of Clinton to force them back to his side anyway.
The party base chose him over everyone else, granted that everyone else was already on a weak footing because the GOP had no real political leadership and everyone who thought that they might have had a shot entered the primary race. Again, Trump tapped into currents that had been present within the Republican base for the past several years (and the American public at large for a while longer). If not him, someone else would have done the same in the next election cycle. He is what they wanted.

I don't blame them too much, seeing as how the other side is packed with worthless "Southern Strategy" hicks.

What blacks should really aim for though is a hostile takeover. Register Republican en masse and cause as much disruption to the system as possible from within. Kinda like what Trump and Sanders both did this year.

They did that...during the Reconstruction era, but I say that counts

It's going to be over at some point in the near future.

I honestly can't wait for the end because it's going to be entertaining no matter who will wins the election. And a really good chunk of americans will be done with the universe and remain in denial for at least 4 years.

I lay there, and watched the god I had created die.
