Thing is, IQ doesn't really measure your intelligence - it measures your ability to solve IQ tests.

IQ metrics are incredibly flawed but any attempt to bypass or ignore them them has led to the inevitable wall that people who do better on rigorously applied standardized tests do better, on average by pretty much any metric of success. Sure there’s socioeconomic factors involved, but consistently not enough to explain test scores away.
