I used to watch it when I was little because it was so trippy and it scared and intrigued me at the same time for some reason

here is everything I remember:

animated
two kids go to an alternate dimension of some sort
their guide is some strange clownlooking man (or something "clown-like") with a triangle nose
he might be blue or violet
there is this strange ethereal xylophone sounding music
all I remember is shades of orange and purple and big floating round objects
I thought it was a part of Squiggles Dots and Lines which is some weird drawing video that my grandparents had in their VHS collection about some middle aged dude who draws like absolute shit and tried to market his retarded method to the public but I watched it and the things I am remembering are not in there

This isn't a joke I keep being haunted by snippets of memories of this VHS in my dreams and I think if I ever saw it again I would scream.

I remember a few cartoons were very hard to find for me because they were actually recut and redubbed foreign cartoons that were repackaged into other tv shows but I remember them as their own distinct show.

It doesn't sound like that is the case here but would you recognize the VHS case to see it? It might be that the VHS hasn't been digitized but there is a photo of the case out there somewhere.

Would you recognize the broadcasting company if you saw their logo?

If you watched the tape all the way through you probably would have seen it on the screen at some point. Good luck :)

Nah I definitely don't think I would, that does nothing for me memory wise when I try and recall if I even caught a glimpse of it or not.

This is about the same as the last question. I don't have a clue what the cover looked like, unless it happened to feature the characters I have described that I've got fuzzily stored in my memory. I think if I saw them, or the background/world they were in, I would recognize it immediately.

Would feeding this information to an AI possibly help, or is that a dumb idea?

It's okay because I don't really know for certain either, but wouldn't that basically be what you are doing with a Google search? I know they use their AI tech and learning algorithm to help parse and attain search engine items easier and more efficiently and I am gonna go out on a limb and guess that they have the best neural network money can buy (even if there was some high level super top secret govt AI it would still have certainly come from Google)

But yeah I am unsure. I am pretty tired too I think I will pick up the search tomorrows. Thanks again all who dug with me.

I feel your pain, there is a book I read as a child that predicted something that happened to me years later that I have been hunting for.

There are quite a few compilation videos you could scan through? Even if you can find something that looks similar you can check the home distribution company to see what else they released.

yo that's crazy! What was it if you don't mind me asking? You don't have to share.

The only other weird book I remember from my childhood that I can't find ANYWHERE was a volume of ghost stories where one of the stories stuck out to me. I found this book in the city library not far from where I lived some time in the 1990s. All I remember about the cover was a collage of pencil-art depicting objects from the stories inside with a large prominent child's face in the center of the cover. The story I remember from the book was about how colors affect a person's mood and the theory that a specific color can cause people to lose their sanity. In the end of the story a kid comes back from vacation to South America with a peculiar blue t-shirt (called "Mayan Blue" in the book) that drives all the kids on the playground crazy and causes them to violently beat him to death. It really opened my young mind up to "informational basilisks" or "infohazards"...the notion that the mere sight of an object or specific geometric shape can scramble the brain's "code" and cause all kinds of nastiness. "BLIT" was a really good sci-fi short story dealing with this topic, along with fractals. That stuff was so mysterious and interesting before those faggots over at SCP discovered it.

Another strange book came from my Jr. High library and it was a Japanese Ghost Story book...I guess nobody read it before approving it for the library because it was just filled to the fucking brim with the most bizarre sex stuff. Seriously, like, every single story in that book involved a man's penis in some regard. The worst I remember was a fisherman who falls asleep on the riverbank and has a dream about a beautiful woman giving him a blowjob - but he wakes up and sees it was a giant snake trying to eat his weiner and it choked to death. just strange ass shit like that. discovered in a jr. high library lol

Yeah sure, it was quite dystopian and probably intended for children who were older than I was but it was in my elementary school library.

It was about a man and a woman, I believe they were a couple who had met during childhood and they lived together in a dilapidated high rise apartment. She was working at a bakery and he started going insane and I believe was fixated on some crows that were living at the top of the building? There were a couple of illustrations in the book.

I ended up playing house and caretaker for a guy who was diagnosed with BPD for a couple of years and he was a lot like the main character as I look back.

i visited my mom today at the nursing home. i asked her about when i was littel in the early 70s, when i was 8 or 9 and if she remebered a kid’s show, animated with two kids going to another dimension guided by a blue man. she said she was suprised i could remember that and i asked why, and she said “because i used to think it was so strange that you said ‘i’m gona go watch the show with the blue man now mom’ and then you would tune the tv to static and juts watch dead air for 30 minutes. you had a big imagination with your little shapes and colors show.”

Candle Cove was a good pasta, of course now everyone knows it so it's lost its touch. Maybe I should stop searching for the VHS so it can retain it's mystique.

Try contacting the “Lost Media wiki”. IIRC their archiving skills are dogshit, but they are pretty good at finding obscure lost stuff. There’s also a YTuber who’s interested in this stuff, ‘blameitonjorge’, maybe he could help,

what era of animation was it?
was it a series, or was it a single feature?

spartakus and the sun beneath the sea was a cartoon on nickelodeon way back in the day that's haunted me:

I remember this. I'd watch it on regular TV. I had to get up at like 6am to see it. It was so weird. But I couldn't look away.

Longshot here... But is it Kidd Video? I don't think it is. But it's worth a shot.

After the live action song the band ends up as cartoons. It's trippy and weird with floating crystals and cars. I can't remember all the secondary characters besides the fat guy and the fairy. But there could have been some weird blue clown. I haven't seen this show in a long ass time.

I can't think of anything else right now. Maybe it was one of those edutainment shows?

Nah but some of the colors are right like the oranges and stuff. Very good narrowing down from the clues given.

This animation was much lower quality. Very "flat" type artwork, think like a lower budget early American cartoon.

During my search I found this interesting animation that is really fucking cool, very creepy. Anti-Nuclear cartoon from the 1950's. I love how mysterious the spaceship is. I looked it up and the ship's official name is "It" which is awesome...it starts morphing from a plane to a stereotypical flying saucer to those spooky black triangle things they keep seeing over Britain and Shanghai and a ton of other shapes.
