Unfortunately child grooming and abuse is absolutely something that can and does happen in a small town. Child marriage actually tends to be most common in rural, poor communities (strong links between child marriage and poverty).

I'm sure there are even a few pedotroons living in small towns. He wasn't a troon but didn't Nick Bate live in the rural bumfuck part of Pennsylvania?
