@Fallensaint, do you know where we could find an annual financial report on these guys?
Edit: Here is a 2015 financial statement. It is confusing to look at their staff and look at the budget because titles of positions are inconsistent or non-existent. This is usually a tell-tale sign to smell a little harder for auditors, but nothing that screams there is a problem, other than there being a smaller number of staff than what wages are budgeted for. They may not have adjusted the website in a re-organization and they could be outsourcing. Positions such as grant writer and payroll accountant are typically outsourced, however I am shocked they would waste $28,224 on fucking payroll, that's ridiculous when you are that small. Get Quicken!! Also, paying $28,000 for a grant writer seems a bit high when you're that small, and what makes my nose crinkle is Greta talking about applying for grants herself and how much of a pain that is, when they have a grant writer they pay $28,000 for. Eh, non-profits are weird in how they handle admin, and the gov is typically pretty persnickety about how they handle their business. They need a non-profit accounting consultant it seems. They could probably explain the problems that arise from co-mingling and maintaining their veil. Also, the strict nature of maintaining resource use within the scope of business.

Below is the claim that 6,000 hours of volunteer hours is a $197,000 value. You break that down and it is over $32 an hour. Factor in things such as contributions for FICA, Unemployment Insurance, etc. and they would have to figure still that their volunteers would be getting paid $20-something an hour. This seems terribly inflated. Going back and seeing that they figured their Director to be worth $80k and doing it for free ($80k for an outfit bringing in a little more than $80k in 2015 is a stretch), it still seems inflated, and I would suspect that is purposely done to draw in donors.

One thing that I found interesting in their report was that they are NOT accredited. They chose to not be accredited by the American Association of Suicidology because of some nonsense about how they don't want to call emergency personnel because of the unique needs of transgender people.

I also have to say I find this to be insane. Look at the graph. Only about 19% of incoming calls were being answered. This is a suicide prevention non-profit where they are only answering less than 19% of calls as of December of last year. When someone does get through, according to this report, they are talking to someone who has only received TWO FUCKING HOURS OF TRAINING.

So what does that tell us? They train people for two hours, only answer 19% of calls and when that 19% do get through, the policy does not follow the AAS crisis standard with regard to emergency personnel. At the same time, the idiots running this outfit want to run around on the internet and play "Troll-Countertroll". I dunno, I would say that this "Trans Lifeline" place is much worse for the health of transgender people than what Kiwi Farms ever could be.
