They claim that there were some conferences that people had to travel to, however it seems irresponsible to waste as much as they did on travel. Also, it is interesting to me that they don't have a breakdown of grants on their webpage. $200k is a pretty large sum for a non-profit to get when they ave been around barely more than a year, especially when they have a track record of falling far behind standards in an industry. I tried finding numbers on all-answer rates, I saw some report on veterans that said that the veterans suicide prevention hotlines answer at like 90%, and I am sorry, but being new isn't an excuse. There are vulnerable transgender people out there who could be on the verge of killing themselves and only 1 out of 5 will get an answer because these two want to play kid games on the internet using their organization's resources. It would make for a nice advertisement tool to call us some sort of anti-tranny message board and say they need more resources to fight us with though, but I am sure that they aren't that disingenuous.

Edit: Here is a 2015 financial statement. It is confusing to look at their staff and look at the budget because titles of positions are inconsistent or non-existent. Below is the claim that 6,000 hours of volunteer hours is a $197,000 value. You break that down and it is over $32 an hour. Factor in things such as contributions for FICA, Unemployment Insurance, etc. and they would have to figure still that their volunteers would be getting paid $20-something an hour. This seems terribly inflated. Going back and seeing that they figured their Director to be worth $80k and doing it for free ($80k for an outfit bringing in a little more than $80k in 2015 is a stretch), it still seems inflated, and I would suspect that is purposely done to draw in donors.

One thing that I found interesting in their report was that they are NOT accredited. They chose to not be accredited by the American Association of Suicidology because of some nonsense about how they don't want to call emergency personnel because of the unique needs of transgender people.

So what does that tell us? They train people for two hours, only answer 19% of calls and when that 19% do get through, the policy does not follow the AAS crisis standard with regard to emergency personnel. At the same time, the idiots running this outfit want to run around on the internet and play "Troll-Countertroll". I dunno, I would say that this "Trans Lifeline" place is much worse for the health of transgender people than what Kiwi Farms ever could be.

A rough average based on that graph above would be say 14,000 incoming calls per annum at a response rate I am generously going to call 40% that is 5,600 calls answered.

$9600 for the phone bill at 4c per minute equates to 240,000 minutes on the phone or an average of 43 minutes per call which is probably not unreasonable for a suicide hotline.

All this is with the caveat my cigarette box maths is right of course.

Anyone over at Translifeline (an organization dedicated to Trans people contemplating suicide) want to explain why their founder flew all the way to Florida to talk to Null about Julie, a cis girl who offed herself? Fairly certain there's a much much longer line of charities before hers who the matter would be far far more relevant to.

I'm pretty certain that their entire staff of "volunteer operators" are unpaid. That's why they get the volunteer designation, because they're not considered organization employees and receive no benefits or pay other than reimbursements for things like training and bluetooth headsets. That's all money that goes to the org and it's overseers, not the troons who aren't working when it's inconvenient.
