Funny he says it's made up, when I grabbed a tweet of him admitting he never learned how to swim. It was him responding to Queen TERF Emma Hilton.

He deleted that tweet, btw. You'd be hard pressed to find it anywhere. I tried the Internet Archive and found nothing. Like Oliver Thorn, he deleted certain tweets after a month or so.

His dad actually died in 1898. It's believed they got the cat in 1899 when Lovecraft was nine. Also he had been committed to a mental institution for years prior to that.

It could have been his grandfather's choice of name, or his mother or her sisters.

Also a lot of people back then didn't realize Nigger was offensive. I know it's weird to us but back then it was just the word many people used for black. My mum when a kid in the 50's got a cat from her neighbors when they moved it was all black and he was already named Sambo and she never realized there was a racial aspect to the name to the point that in the 70's when she got a black kitten she named him Sambo II and my mum wasn't racist just ignorant.

I always thought it was his Dad's cat, I know Lovecraft said he had Niggerman when he was a kid, I know his Dad was committed, but I didn't realize he died when Howard was that young.
That's pretty sad.
It explains a lot about why Lovecraft was so withdrawn and didn't like being around people.
Lovecraft did marry and his wife brought him out of his shell a lot later in life, but he remained a loner and private person, most of his friendships even were carried out through correspondence rather than in person.
His Dad dying in a madhouse explains a lot of the fear of going mad that ran through Lovecrafts work.
I never realized he lost his Dad that young, that's pretty sad.

People are too hard on Lovecraft, yeah he was a sperg with some beliefs we dislike today but he had a really difficult life and that shit didn't come out of nowhere. Making fun of him always feels like punching down to me. If he had lived now he would have had a thread, but it would be like one of the schizocow threads where we all feel mostly sorry for the cow and want him to take his meds.

3 months ago I created a post I labeled the Seabass Chronicles, a story of an 18-year-old troon who wouldn't stop baiting that they were going to unalive themself, I held off posting it for a month because I didn't want the Farms to get the blame for it in the event that they did infact end it.
It's time to give an update: Still alive and still baiting about suicide.

Literally talks about ending themself 2-3 times a week.

We start on May 20th so 15 days after my last post, Twitter bugged out and stopped loading his older Tweets and I wasn't rescrolling through all those posts a second time, if it's not depression related they just retweet pictures of cats.

Van Gogh cut off his ear, Seabass trooned out, and now cannot draw art, history doesn't repeat itself... but it does rhyme.
