All discussion of the candidates, updates and results should go here

For example- here's a video of Ted Cruz vying for world domination.

Also Hilary Clinton is a crook and nobody should have sex with her.

Discuss

(Note- The title will change as we get nearer the election, previous titles will be archived in the OP)

Here's to ten more! :woo:

The chance of Trump winning is pretty shit, but his chances of even making it this far were pretty shit, so nothing would really surprise me anymore.

I'll hedge my bets until it's actually over. 2016, more often than not, has been a year impervious to reality.

That said, Trump's not going to win because he has a better strategy or can outsmart Clinton. His only hope is that he's running against Hillary Clinton.

Trump's not going to win at all you giant faggot.

If the democrats ran seriously anybody else this would not even be a point of discussion, this election would already be over. Centrist liberals fucked themselves by choosing a woman with so much baggage she could fill an entire shipping container with it.

I feel like he's gone totally off the deep end in the past two weeks. The man's insane. Common assumption in the GOP from what I can gather at this point is that he's just a complete narcissist and doesn't actually want to be president, and might even drop out of the race before November. They've started making contingencies if that happens (I've heard Rudy Giuliani thrown around as a replacement, which would be pure lulz). Even if he's not dropping out, his campaign is in pure chaos and his aides have basically given up on trying to control his behavior. If you listen to his surrogates on the news they're all grasping at straws trying to pretend nothing is happening, and it is amazingly see through. Him saying he's not going to endorse Ryan and McCain I think is the last straw for the RNC elite. And despite all claims to the contrary, he needs those people. He needs them to help him raise money and to win over traditional conservatives. More than that if he gets elected having your own party hate your guts along with the opposing party is not a good situation to be in. You gotta remember the only reason Ryan ever endorsed Trump was out of obvious, cynical, careerism. That's gone now. Now Ryan is looking for an out. So is McCain.

Trump's been fucking himself so hard that the possibility of him ever being able to walk again is getting slimmer and slimmer. Clinton and the dems don't even have to really campaign against him anymore, they just have to bait him into saying and doing stupid shit. Which keeps working. The Khan thing is a perfect example. They wanted Trump to throw a hissyfit about that. Most political candidates see bait for what it is. Trump? Trump goes for that shit hard. And now even his own party is realizing he's incapable of thinking things through.

lol calm down

Looks like Trump's finally got the republican establishment running his campaign as well as they ran everybody else's during the primaries.

I said it way back in November and I'll say it again.
I think Trump's whole campaign is a :ruse: that he's doing for shits and giggles. He never actually expected to get this far, and he's deliberately acting like a tard just to see what happens.

I have got to say, after doimg a bit of recon on both candidate's subreddits, I'm no longer sure which one has the bigger hugbox. The Clinton one is like a minor safe space that cock blocks any links to shit like National Review or Redstate. I should try and see if NCR Register would get through. While r/theDonald is...exactly as I expect it would be. He could shit in a hat and nobody would be concerned about his behavior.

I think both have given me cancer from how earnest they both are to support such shitty people.

Clinton's subreddit is like, 99% paid interns, however.

I read some article awhile back saying that when he started hiring people for his campaign, the goal was really only to finish 2nd in the primaries. It's like they were just hoping "someone" would magically stop him at the convention, like idk the illuminati or the smoking man or something, when that didn't happen everyone just gave up

He's super, super unlikely to drop out. However, it's Donald Trump--we wouldn't be having this conversation otherwise. I was speaking with a friend who works for the party at the national level yesterday; contingency plans are in place, but candidates aren't exactly solid. Things would be poll tested. If it were winnable, and he wanted it, it would be Paul Ryan's for the taking. I doubt that would happen, though. (Plus, unrelated, Ryan/Pence does not seem very strong to me.) If we had to put up a sacrificial lamb, though, it's anyone's guess. But, like I said, this is almost certainly not going to happen.

I've heard (though haven't seen solid proof) that Ryan and McCain were considering unendorsing/speaking against Trump, but President Obama urging Republicans to do so stopped them, for obvious reasons.

Also, the Khan thing was brilliant. Whoever decided to have him speak at the DNC is a genius. From a professional standpoint, I really admire him/her.

I said it way back in November and I'll say it again.

IIRC, he had a former adviser who admitted that they never expected (at least initially) to get more than 12% of the primary vote and a speaking slot at the RNC.

.

Obama really fucked them with that one statement. He used their own inability to compromise against them, now they're stuck burning in the Trumpster fire. There's legitimately no way they can get out of it now without looking terrible

They're running out of time to get someone else on the ballot. So either they run a candidate that is proving to be as poisonous to the party brand as uranium infused utensils, or run literally anyone else and face the wrath of their base.

Shit, even people who love Trump can't seem to be able to stop twisting the proverbial knife in his campaign.
And because Trump's been making shit up, now people like a former director of the goddman CIA are putting stock in Trump being a Russian mole or sone shit. Seriously.
I thought Manafort was supposed to keep Trump from shitting the bed, @Jon-Kacho , explain this shit.
That guy's paid off by Hillary Clinton. And if he had said the opposite, he'd show up dead in a few days.
