Oh boy, it's :powerlevel: time.

Been in and around the DR community for a few years now, and it's definitely full of shitty OC fics. So many. Couple of years ago I started one of my own and holy shit, some of the submissions I got were laughably bad. May as well chuck a couple of the absolute worst ones under spoilers.

Name (Gender): Layla Anderson \ Female

Age (15-18): 17

Nationality (would prefer Japanese but freedom of choice an' all): British

Ultimate/SHSL Talent: ice-queen

Physical Description (weight, height, appearance, clothing etc.):

Height: normal 17 years old height

Build: thin, curvy, D-cup

Skin tone: light skin tone

Hair colour, length and style: Blond hair reaches the end of her butt and bangs

Eye colour and shape: green

Clothes: black strapless crop top, denim shorts, black leather jackets, black leather gloves, black thigh-high high heel boots

Personality: she's really a nice person but she hides her true personality behind the face of a girl who pretends to care only about herself and thinks she better than everyone because she has a rich family a smart brain and great health. She's very
sarcastic and straightforward and she always says what in her mind. She only show her real nice personality when no one is around when she helping someone or if that someone had been true friend with her, she's very observant and pay attention to every little detail in everything she do

Speech/Mannerisms: Eye-rolling (when someone say something stupid), crossing her legs when she sit down

Background (significant past events, family, secrets): Layla is born to a rich family but her dad and mom (Joe and Emily) are always out on business they weren't even there for her birthdays, she had everything a girl dream of a huge house for herself a servant doing her work for her and she was the most popular girl in school but all she wanted was someone who she can call a friend, she only had her house butler Bobby (his real name is Akira but she want to call him Bobby\ he's Japanese) he was always there for her when she needed him since she was 5 but when he even helped her to learn Japanese she reached 17 he got very sick and want to spend his last days with his family in Japan but before he left he both her puppy cookies to be her friend
(- important early memory/experience: telling her parents that she won first place a dancing and a singing competition in the same day but all they said way " good " in a emotionless voice and it completely crushed her, she never hated her parent more in that day only her butler Bobby seemed happy for her he even bought her roses and threw a mini tea party for him and her (she was 15))

Likes: red roses, sweets, puppies, shopping

Dislikes: having no money, work, when her parents aren't around to be with her, coffee, bitter food or drinks, dank places, spiders

Possible Motive: she doesn't want to kill anyone or be killed by anyone her plan is to stay alive and leave (whatever place they trapped in)

Role during Investigation/Trial: she'll be the smart one very straightforward and says what in her mind

Strengths: she is super smart, she has a strong punch, fast and good aim when she wants throw things at somebody and a
fast runner

Weaknesses: when she's angry she say something rude without meaning it she just want them to leave her alone she prefer to
keep her anger for her self

Name: Nezunoya Gyoki (surname, first name)

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Ultimate/SHSL Talent: Interpreter

Physical Description: Gyoki is slightly below average in height and very thin, with red eyes, extremely pale skin and medium length white hair. He wears white sneakers, black skinny jeans and a light green sleeveless hoodie, decorated with several brightly coloured badges and cartoonish white crosses vertically arranged in a line. He also wears a large, decorative golden bracelet on each wrist, which are in reality medical identification bracelets with his conditions written on them (albinism and XLA, X-linked agammaglobulinemia, a heredity immunodeficiency disorder responsible for his bad immune system… They are real conditions, although I've taken a bit of artistic licence with the actual biology. Normally, he tires out easily and can only maintain low stress activity, but his condition will periodically deteriorate and he will become debilitatingly ill).

Personality: Upbeat, friendly but relatively mild-mannered, Gyoki has very good people skills and often leaves a very favourable first impression. He has a surprisingly wide range of knowledge is able to maintain any conversation with ease, even with normally tacit people. Due to his childhood, he has developed a compulsion to try and include everybody, even if they would prefer not to be involved. His condition means he is incapable of participating in most physical activities and in constant discomfort, but he is very reluctant to disclose his conditions lest he is given special treatment.

Speech/Mannerisms: He has a low, raspy voice which is at odds with his rather frail appearance. He is good at reading people and changes the style and formality of speaking to try and make them as comfortable as possible. He is usually very at ease and relaxed, but when his condition deteriorates his movements become very sluggish and uncoordinated.

Background: Born with a very poor immune system, Gyoki spent his entire childhood in and out of hospitals to prevent various secondary illnesses from affecting his health and development; it was mostly a success, but it left him with almost no friends, and the few that he did have treated him like glass. Fuelled by the desire to be able to experience life normally, he hid his conditions behind a cheerful personality. While in hospital, he took up learning languages to pass the time, which he ended up excelling at; he is fluent in over 70 languages.

Likes: Sports, hospitals, music concerts, the horror genre

Dislikes: Bright lights, causing worry, his own physical weakness

Possible Motive: During his episodes and for a short period after recovering, he is delirious and could be easily convinced to commit a murder by a topical motive.

Role during Investigation/Trial: In the investigation, Gyoki would stay away from the scene itself and primarily focus on the movements of the other students. In trial, he would mostly resign himself to doing his best to keep people from arguing needlessly or just to listen to avoid tiring himself out.

There was also another one that was really awful but it's been lost to the mists of time. Oh well.
 
Eh at least Disneyfan makes descriptions in her fics and doesn't literally "stick to the SCRIPT" like this girly does.
