I suppose that if you want your taxpayer dollars going to some Blacks who have never been slaves based on the sins of your fathers who may or may not have even owned slaves, Jill's your gal.

The nice thing about protest votes is you don't actually have to care about what they'd do if they got elected since they won't be.

My objection to the concept of "reparations" anyway is more philosophical than practical. Arguably, we already have been paying "reparations" for several generations in the form of the descendants of slaves receiving a disproportionately high share of public benefits. Actually calling them that, though, frames it as an adversarial us-or-them argument that virtually by definition creates resentment on both sides.

"Reparations" to me only makes sense in the context of relatively immediate compensation for wrongs actually directly suffered by specific, identifiable people, such as, for instance, Jews who had their property seized by Nazi Germany and can actually identify the property and a cash value for it. It makes no sense in the context of historical events 150+ years ago.

In any event, if I vote for Stein (or even Gary Johnson for that matter), it certainly won't be because I agree with every fringe position a fringy candidate holds.

Basically this. I agree with Stein on many issues, but not this one. That's pretty much how it's gonna be for anyone who supports any candidate for the most part. Ideally Congress should work with each other and the President to reject irredeemably bad ideas and turn other ideas into something workable.

Either way, in this case, whoever I vote for isn't gonna be because I think they're gonna win the election, but to (hopefully) play some tiny part in reducing the margin by which the victor wins to (hopefully) send a message that they don't have overwhelming support.

Donald trump is not a victim in all of this. He's had so much free media coverage during this whole farce that he barley needed to fundraise throughout the primaries and drowned everyone else out anyway. He's been routinely treated lightly by the press, who have only very recently learnt on him harder. It's not because they care as much as trump's persona and material wealth are patently horseshit. He flip flops every other day- Like his recent softening on the Muslim ban, when it's suddenly convenient flops again when the shooting happened. There are some other bits I can see as legitimate in this as well. Such as the horrendous housing segregation and predatory loaning practices initiated on darkies by the likes of Donald Trump.

But the best solution to all our problems, if you ask me, is to scrap all existing government welfare apparati and replace them with a universal basic income service. We're already spending billions on the welfare state in this country. So we should at least do it through a system that treats our citizens like adults and cuts out the ability for middlemen to swindle millions at a time.

Which is also why I'm positive Trump'll fight to the death against such measures seeing as how he's exactly the kind of contemptible crook whose bread and butter comes from fleecing the welfare state.

I'll admit, I'm in a different position than many.

Trump is my least favorite of the candidates we've had this year in both parties. Hillary's my second least favorite candidate. I live in New Mexico, which'll vote for Ariel Castro before it votes for Donald Trump. And Gary Johnson used to be Our Governor.

My protest vote stands a chance at actually meaning something.
