Well... I have bad news for you, buddy. Fedposter J was tinkering with the Tranch's fleet of dead vehicles (they have like 4 of them) back in November, but he didn't appear to have any luck getting them to start.

"Getting it back up and running" means he burned a shitload of gasoline in the generator to charge it for a few hours. And you can see on the "gas gauge" it only has 2 tick marks so probably not even enough to make it to town. The fact he drove it there with no charge shows the level of planning they have.

Level 1 charging on the Leaf is 20hours at a constant 12amp draw. Thats gonna have to be a big ass solar plant to at best charge the car in 2 days. Likely they will have to budget an hour a day and take 20 days to charge it.
EV off solar is retarded because at each step in this chain you are introducing loss.
SOLAR(DC) --> Battery bank(DC) --> Inverter(DC to AC) ---> Car charger(AC to DC) ---> Car battery bank(DC)
You need a custom car that can do

The Leaf that IT has is around 58k miles. See the odometer and you can make out 58 through the steering wheel. Based on the second photo with a clear odometer, from an EV car site, this confirms the 58k miles.

Now we need to know how long a Nissan Leaf batter will last and it's degradation over time. Based off a Nissan dealer we know it lasts for 10 years or 100k miles on average:

Looking into the loss of efficiency we see (from the third photo) that the Nissan leaf is not only at half of its life but is has lost 25% efficiency.

So before we get the reduced range we need the know the starting range. Based on the trim and interior styling, we know it is pre-2018 when the Leaf got a facelift. Such the range is 100 miles.

With that in mind the reduced range is now 75 miles. Probably 70-65 miles due to the weather. The closest town is Westcliffe that is 20 miles away, one way.

The car will deplete close to 60% of it's battery on one trip into town which has the closest pharmacy for their Troon medication. They cannot make any Costco runs with it nor get to any major city

Somehow I missed this post and started writing my own but you missed two things. First, 100 miles is tops for 2016/2017. If it's older than that it's 85 miles tops. Also, they're not going anywhere in the cold. All electric cars have problems in the cold but the Leaf is especially bad, losing at least half of its range. I note with great pleasure that it gets really fucking cold in the winter in the mountains of Colorado.

These posts are from almost two years ago, so the Leaf must be super dead now.

He should really just have it trailered to an EV specialist shop or Nissan dealer.
Or, just put it on Craigslist or Bring your own Trailer with an honest unknown condition, Leafs are worth money even crashed for the motor etc.

Appa and Naga (which may sound familiar because they're both named after children's cartoon characters, as are basically all their pets) are the original two Great Pyrenees, the fuckoff huge white dogs.
Incidentally, they're not dogs that are well-suited to EITHER potential owner, since both Bonny and Penny are now in spaces that would struggle to accommodate (multiple) large dogs and have (theoretically, in Alyssa's case) medically frail people about. The real question is what happened to all the OTHER dogs, there were five-ish total iirc.

The only friends these people have are equally as useless as them. They have no car guy friends with a trailer.

For the leaf to have a chance he needs to go there with a new 12volt battery and a 220 generator with the correct plugs to get it on a 220 charge.
The leaf will not charge the main battery with a dead 12 volt battery. The 12 volt battery needs to be good enough to run the computer through the whole charging cycle of the main battery. So just "jump starting" a failed 12 volt battery wont work. I suspect fedposter J was to dumb to figure this out. If you just plug in a completely flat dead leaf nothing will happen. If you "jump start" it will charge for a little bit then stop charging when you unhook the jumper cables.

I don't know the chemistry of the batteries in the leaf but I suspect leaving them flat dead for 2 years with many freeze/thaw cycles has completely fucked them.

Electric cars are such a meme. And the Leaf is the meme'est of them all.

So I've not really been around these parts since the Keffels ordeal so I am massively out of the loop. I used to follow Kevin and the Tranch threads pretty closely but I'm now majorly out of the loop.

I've caught up from the last feature but I had a few questions:
1. What happened with the vicuna? I remember there being one but I've seen it referred to as Pepe the rape vicuna and I just wanted further context on that
2. Can anybody give me a brief run down on happenings between keffels and the mass exodus happening? I know Paul had started kicking a fuss up on twitter but I'm wondering what triggered things?
3. There's been talk of confirmations of mass graves, can anybody point me in the right direction for those screenshots/evidence?

In return for my autism and the impending clocks I deserve, I have some screenshots from Paul's twitter account. I've shared some of these in the DMs of another farmer, not sure if they shared wider once the farms had that down time. I hadn't shared with the thread previously as I didn't want to lose my leak and Paul only had an incredibly small pool of followers at the time. I think some of these he scrubbed from his account before making it public again and apologies if any have been shared already.
