Consoomers / Consoomer Culture - Because if it has a recogniseable brand on it, I’d buy it!

I'm stretching the definition of consoomer here but I think it's kind of hilarious that they are telling people to watch football instead of going on a nature hike. That said, their issue is legitimate and it's a shame shitty (most likely "influencer" types) people had to ruin it.
The people swarming were being assholes about it, so I'm siding with the city here.
People illegally parked their cars along the freeway and neighborhoods were so gridlocked that parts of the city were essentially severed, affecting emergency services and the ability of residents to go to stores and work, Johnson said.

Have you ever looked at your computer room and wondered what an armenian man in his 30s thinks about it? Or do you just want to look at how people arrange thousands of dollars of chinese electronic tat? I have just the youtube channel for you.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=p-pW0liKCtUI'm pretty sure you can buy a very nice used car for what some of these "battlestations" cost.

Having a nice desk/work place and room is great for mental health but this stuff is just tacky and awful. Having a good computer, keyboard and monitor is not really a crime just how you make it look that gets like this shit.
Those LED nanoleaf LED things are expensive as fuck for no other reason than these retards buy them.

The avid consoomer's life is so devoid of non-artificial gratification that they simply cannot differentiate fiction from reality anymore. They use the excuse of "escapism", yet have done absolutely nothing ambitious with their lives.

Do youse guys think consoomers might be more of a symptom of the culture than anything else, like people who give up retreat into it?

Edit: I'm going to be honest I've kind of just gone full 100% vidya consoomer and I know it's because the world feels shitty and the game worlds feel much more varied and rewarding and welcoming than this piss.

Reading up on the French revolution and it hit me. There are so many parallels between adult Disney fans and the pre-French Revolution aristocracy. Consoomers culture, people behave like the European aristocracy but without political power or status. The aristocracy is famous for not wanting to marry, grow up or have children. In fact, modern LGBT culture in the west can be traced to the aristocracy.
Bro you're going to have to expand on your argument, I'm not a French Revolution kahuna.

People who can't relate anything in the real world to anything but fiction, with cringe results.

Good god ... that kind of obnoxious indirect backlighting has got to be absolute murder on the eyes. These stupid "battlestations" won't see more than an hour of use per day, unless they just keep those lights turned off until it's photo op time.

Also lol @ those rotated monitors. As if these faggots do anything whatsoever with these machines that justifies having a vertical screen (much less two).
Funny thing is I've always made do with one. I'll take my trash cans now. But seriously I get two, heck my old man that basically thinks computers are demons, likes the dual monitor setup due to his work. But rotating them and doing all this weird shit like light displays, painting the damn room, instead of the  classic decorations of setting up a animu or vidya game figure, maybe a lego, and being done with it, is just too far.

I don't know how big of an industry this is, but consoomer Bibles seem especially cursed:
I can understand wanting to present the word of God in a beautiful fashion, but calling yourself "Humble Lamb" when your cheapest option starts at 130$ is a bit much.

I'm guessing the reason for the expense is they are low print runs. The Bible industry is massive, though like most high end items, this is more of a niche within it. About 20 million bibles are sold a year in just the US. The bible translation industry is also massive, which feeds into it because you want the most accurate (readable, beautiful, whatever) translation you can get, approval lists from churches change to reflect that. There are currently around 50 regularly used English translations available, and books for all of them, but some are obviously more popular like King James or the New American Standard.

TLDR: It's yuge.

This. As a Christian, there are the bibles you give out, the ones you read on the regular, that you want to last as long as possible, and then there's the ones that are the centerpiece ones that look like those library dictionaries, that not everyone owns and youll usually see at your grandparents. Yes it's big. And yes you have translations. It gets heated on which one is correct, with some churches being looser than others. I'm Mormon, it's the King James Version or nothing. The market is huge.

Just because I felt like it, check out some things that pop up if you go to YouTube, search for "Must haves", and filter by the last month:

Has anyone posted about Votesaxon07 yet? A toy review youtuber arrested on suspicion of murdering a pregnant woman in Northern Ireland?

He was mainly a Dr Who toy guy, but he pre recorded a live stream to try and use as an alibi.

I don't have the screencaps but the hype for the Flash movie is peak consumerism. The lead is an actual convicted criminal but it's okay because muh nostalgia.

I was going to scold you for not including any references or links to articles on this subject, but after digging around myself, holy shit the media coverage for this is absurdly milquetoast and completely devoid of useful information.

Even after reading half a dozen articles (several of them being otherwise very thorough -- going as far as to describe in great detail how he "actively engaged" with the victim's family following the murder to "support" them in finding the killer), I still have no idea what this man's relationship to the victim was (if any). Were they dating? Just fucking? Just friends? No relation at all and he just snapped and killed her? The media sure isn't telling. There's no discussion of motive either.

I get the distinct feeling the only reason any outlets grabbed hold of the story to begin with is the fact that he livestreamed a pre-recorded stream during the alleged murder as an alibi. From what little I gathered from the coverage, he's another example of "ran his mouth and got caught" too -- he was actually arrested and then ruled out as a suspect because of the livestream, but attracted renewed police interest because he insisted on getting involved with the victim's family to "find the killer" and even spied on them to see whether they suspected him.

It's pretty big. It's common to have multiple Bibles just because. There's also Bibles with cringe attempts at appealing to whatever is big at the moment. Had a hip-hop Bible that contained just the New Testament and a ton of cringe sermons full of outdated slang. Forgot what it was called.

Came with a CD that had one good song by a guy named John the Baptist. Sadly, nothing as fire as this.

Might have it somewhere in a box of keepsakes. It was so goofy I had to keep it.

Here's a Minecraft Bible.

Similar to thug culture among black Americans. How much does this adult Disney shit spawn from America and Western Europe uniquely a fatherless society? Childless white women obsessed with Disney crap as an adult scream about the lack of a father or even a father figure in their lives.

Yeah, about not archiving / giving more links it was late.

But it really showed how all that plastic went to his head. He has an obsession with lightsabers and Dr Who collectables and I wonder if that convinced him that he was a great warrior, or mastermind like his favourite made up characters. His username "Vote Saxon 07" is a reference to the scheming Dr Who villain, the Master; an evil Time Lord who manipulates everyone in Britain into making him the Prime Minister.

Just shows what happens when you spend all day fantasising about plastic and not living in the real world. Fat load of good those toys will do now.

This has gotta be peak consoomerism. Of all the books you could choose, they buy the one which tells the same story. God bless their wallets.

(I know there are different translations but I still find it funny)
