I was listening to a video about the various causes and corresponding treatments for headaches the other day, and one of the kinds of headaches was due to the menstrual cycle. The guy does these videos for a lot of health related subjects, mostly fitness, but in general is pretty thorough with the explanations of the biological and chemical mechanisms behind the way the body works.
What I learned (unless I severely misunderstood) was that all the unpleasant symptoms of menstruation, the aches, the mood swings, the period itself, etc., happen not during the part of the process when there's a high hormonal load in the body, but during and due to the sharp decrease in said hormonal load.
These fucking gits think they're getting periods from the high hormonal load that comes when they get the HRT dosis, when in reality, if it worked like it does for a woman, it would happen when they're not taking the HRT.
My understanding is what they're getting is the same kind of digestion issues bodybuilders on steroids get, because of severe vasoconstriction in the intestines after a steroid dosis.

Yeah the hormonal cycle is complex (not just the estrogen and progesterone they think it is) and involves some pretty sharp dips and big climbs. Graph below is pretty basic but gives an idea. Troons just eat like shit and think the resulting cramps and moods are *feminine hormone magic*.

The hormones involved in a menstrual cycle are a delicate ballet of follicle stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone (influencing the egg release), estrogen and progesterone.
Progesterone is the hormone responsible for most of the misery associated with menstruation. Headaches, bloating, breast tenderness, mood changes etc. are all influenced primarily by progesterone.
Progesterone rises in the Luteal phase (after the egg is released) and peaks about halfway between the egg dropping and menstruation starting. If the egg is fertilized, the progesterone gets the signal to keep releasing and maintain a consistent level. Progesterone causes the lining of the uterus to be primed to maintain implantation.
If there is no fertilization, then the progesterone drops sharply, and the uterus sheds.
Estrogen plays a minor role in some of those symptoms. But it’s more a supporting character. The progesterone levels are primarily what contributes to your typical PMS and dysmenorrhea.
Some trans hormone therapy includes progesterone. But most are estrogen dominant. Estrogen is what causes the feminization and offsets the testosterone, with progesterone (if it’s used) playing a supporting role.
