These people ruin retro gaming. So what if the case is a little mangled, you're lucky to have it and the hardware to play it. I buy games for my OG Xbox to play them, thinking of it as an investment when emulators have already digitized pretty much all of it is stupid.
all you really need is the hardware for pretty much every old game console. it's trivial to play pirated copies of games; fuck the collectors, just buy the console and download the games.

I know I keep bringing this up, but Temu is now #1 in the "free" category on both Google Play and the App Store.

I like her accent. "So queut, so camfy." "Adwable liddle sweatpant numba."

This one was in the tag because Temu ships wigs, including human hair ones, so there are a lot of wig-wearers ordering from them because of it.

i don't get it, aren't there enough cheap and shitty knickknacks sold in America? all this garbage looks like it comes from a dollar store or some bargain bin. Amazon is also full of cheap novelty items and chinese crap that breaks in 10 minutes.

It feels like a race to the bottom. People will just grab things because they're unbelievably cheap not thinking about things like the "true cost" nor externalities.
It's the same psychological trap where people will spend money on something just because it's on sale, but if it were not on sale, would they have even purchased it in the first place? How many people truly have shit like this on their shopping lists or wish lists?
I'd wager the number is very, very low unless you're a child or a sped, so the rest of the people buying these products are just doing it for the dopamine hit.
I mean, look at this lady, she bought a crown.
A crown from China, which, need I remind everyone:

Lego continues to have it's finger on the pulse of what is popular with children.
No doubt they're super focused on kids' trends and catering to that. They're trying to appease the Chinese market too with their recent Monkie Kid theme which is basically the Wukong Journey to the West story. Lego consooomers will eat it all up regardless. Such a shame Lego isn't taking any creative risks since the past decade.

They don't need to and that set will sell on the fact that it's Lego City, right besides Ninjago as their highest seller. A 6 yo wants a cool truck for his birthday, here you go Timmy. Sadly by being the best for so long, their competition has either gone bankrupt or shrunk to such a degree that they're non existent.

First bitch has a product break on her, the second one in the video and admits she already bought the same trash before on Amazon and it broke then. She bought the exact same shit again just to generate more trash. ???

Second one apparently has kids, already horrifying, and bought shoes for them on this service. Random knicknacks is stupid but you're risking them because you want to cheap out. Mindless.
It blows my mind that people pay real money for sub-Walmart quality products straight from sweatshop hell, with no safety testing at all. Even Dollar Tree safety tests its shit and issues recalls. Years ago Walmart sold cheap flipflops coated in chemicals that burned the skin off a woman's feet. At least that shit got recalled and destroyed. Some sweatshop intermediary in China is just going to keep shipping that shit out, it's not like they can be held legally responsible.

If news came out that she stole bathroom items and personal hygiene products borrowed shampoo and collected all of the hotel memorabilia from all of those hotels she stayed in, I would not be surprised.
Her whole shtick is to blend all variations of something into a franken-something. So I expect a video on mixing hotel shampoos together.

It is! In the video I include in the spoiler, the guy goes into how it works.
TL;DW: Temu ships from China using "developing country" rates, so it's literally cheaper to ship things from China than within the US, so there is literally no way for a local producer to be able to ship for less than China pays to ship internationally, but the USPS still has to process all that stuff, so every time you buy from Temu you're basically screwing over your own country if you're in the "developed country" block because you are still paying for shipping, just indirectly.
Put another way, China has a way to exhaust our postal service's resources/tax funding because Americans order cheap shit like this:

A bunch of cheap, carcinogenic, Chinesium to satisfy fried dopamine receptors? The way TikTok melts brains is impressive and terrifying.

Shit on Amazon stays in my wish list for MONTHS before I settle on it. Sales definitely help (decent bargains do happen occasionally) but I suspect that most consumers lack typical self-control. Companies depend and capitalize on that behavior.

As one gets older one realizes that you get what you pay for (generally), and it’s better to spend MORE on quality products that last many years instead of buying a new cheap one every year.

Exception: our first set of pots and pans (a house-warming gift from family for our first apartment) were super cheap ones from Walmart or Zellers (plastic handles, etc). They’ve lasted 20 years. Shrug.

The lowest level of super cheap products now comes at a much lower quality level than it did when you got those pots and pans. I got heavily into sewing and mending when I realised just how much better-made the old stuff was, and how the mended old clothes last better than brand-new ones.
