Wolf had a conversation with Southpaw about his antics on EFAP and elsewhere. Southpaw got really, really upset with Mauler and Fringy because they didn't appraise his favorite TV show (Terriers) correctly. He said some things publicly which Wolf says were akin to calling EFAP rape apologists. Wolf basically confronts him about what he has done and all Southpaw can do is talk about some details in the show that were misunderstood because EFAP doesn't know real world knowledge like he does.
TL;DW is basically this:
Wolf: "Why did you call me and my friends rape apologists?"
SP: "Well, if you skip to this timecode in episode five of Terriers, you can clearly see that..."
Wolf: "You do realize people don't appreciate being called rape apologists, right?"
SP: "..."
By the way. This is basically every interaction ever with Southpaw about media. It's like every piece of media is on trial and he's some kind of lawyer gathering evidence for a client about whether a movie makes sense practically. This is why he says he loves Terriers so much because, according to him, it's internal logic is just so freakin' consistent and practical.
Southpaw also has this uncanny ability to say he messed up and then immediately proceed into explaining why he was right the whole time. He also wrote this huge ream:

Wherein he tries to blame his problems on misunderstandings and miscommunication, but as you continue to read he makes it out like he's a victim. Then, he ends the entire thing by calling someone "a liar, a narcissist, an animal abuser, and a groomer" and then proceeds to mention how he saved some woman from this person's abuse.
I will never understand why do spergs attribute fictional shit with actual abhorrent human behaviors. Like, someone in their life had to explain to them that the things they see in media are not real and that, for example, liking an irredeemable asshole in a movie doesn't make them a bad person, right? Right?

I hadn't returned to the topic until just recently. Most of what I'm garnering is second-hand from folks I've met on smudboy's circle and here from this thread. I've been a KiwiFarms lurker for a bit, following the degeneration of Ethan Ralph, Carl Benjamin, and others.
So, Southpaw reached out to me. I had no idea who he was, but he saw my stupid anti-Mauler video on YouTube and must've though I was a kindred spirit. I joined his and SK's Discords for a while and got called a transphobe because I told someone there that troons oughta shut up and just be happy with the way God made'em. This led to my being banned from SK's Discord. Southpaw said nothing about the matter, which was a heavy indication that--ultimately--he really is just a coward and a fink. SK seems to be the one mostly calling most of the shots and Southpaw just follows along.
I jumped that ship shortly after Southpaw announced that he "made up" with Mauler and EFAP. Details were not given to any of us as to how that conversation went down which also made me highly suspicious. Mind you, this came after he had told me about how he and SK were compiling "evidence" against EFAP for the better part of a year. I got into a call with him after his announcement and basically asked him, "So, just like that, you're all just friends again?"
And he said, "Yes" as if it were the most matter-of-fact thing he could have said.
Later, SK releases this video which indicates the whole "made up with Mauler" bit was completely fabricated as well.
As for being "well into the Mauler" I stopped following Callum and EFAP 3 years ago. I wanted to focus solely on my own content. I jumped the Mauler/EFAP ship shortly after I posted a 2-hour video which I inflated by repeating several clips over and over. I did this solely for the purpose of exposing the "took me out of context" hypocrisy and because I got really bitter about being told I was insane for comparing Callum to Carl Benjamin:

He actually commented below the video too. The way I laid things out was that he didn't watch my whole video but came to a conclusion about it anyway. I called him out on this, basically showing how he was doing exactly what he had accused Hbomberguy and Folding Ideas of doing with his videos.
To be frank, Callum has always been a hypocrite. The problem isn't exposing him, that's already been done time and again. The problem is getting his fans, followers, and subs to actually care about the fact that he is a hypocrite. Which, for the most part, they don't.
What the whole Southpaw debacle has shown me is that there's folks out there who are taking EFAP to extremes that even make Callum and his ilk cringe. But, fundamentally, there's little that's different between the two. They both say whatever they please and if caught in a lie, it's never their fault. It's always someone else who took them out of context.
I still stand by my statements that Callum is one of a number of YouTubers who was spring-boarded by what he was talking about rather than what he actually is. Hence, my comparison to Carl Benjamin who was spring-boarded out of obscurity much like Ethan Ralph was by the whole #GamerGate fiasco.
If I'm to be absolutely fair, Callum has an excellent video on Yooka-Laylee which still stands up today. You know why it's great? He provides sources for everything he says. In other words, he does actual criticism and analysis. He even has segment in his TLJ critique on how the movie writes like it's in direct response to fan theories was also spot-on, but from what I remember he actually references what the fans say. He used to do that a lot--he'd take portions of what others said and show how what they were saying was false. These were compelling arguments.
EFAP, however, doesn't really support that. It's mostly off-the-cuff garbage that hasn't been substantiated by any forethought or true consideration. These people have become lazy leeches, pulling actual content that other people write scripts for and edit videos for, and it's just four people talking over its segments like YouTube elected them judge, jury, and executioner.

Oh my God, I watched a few videos from S. K. Comics about 2 or 3 years ago and they were about as retarded as you'd expect from an EFAP orbiter. For example, in his review of Spider-Man: No Way Home he asks why Peter isn't arrested for violating the Sokovia Accords from Captain American: Civil War. This is despite the fact that No Way Home takes place 5 years after half the universe was erased from existence by Thanos. Why would anyone give a shit about the Accords by then?
Here's another example: he reviewed season 2 of that Harley Quinn show and he kept taking jokes 100 % seriously. Like, there's a joke in season 2 where Commissioner Gordon thinks the mayor of Gotham is gonna thank him for saving the city but instead the mayor thanks a bunch of C and D list superheroes who weren't there. In his review S.K. unironically asks "Why is the mayor thanking all these heroes instead of Gordon? They weren't even there!". as if it's some kind of plot hole in the show.

Then it depends on when the review was released lol if it was released in a post NWH world then it could make a bit sense, but you have no reason to believe it wouldn't happen given how the movie ends. It's still pretty retarded either way.

The meticulous nature of tearing apart films like this has always struck me as being borderline psychotic. Like, has SK or Southpaw produced any media of their own that's noteworthy? Do they even write their own scripts or make their own movies using this supposed well of facts, logic, and raisins™ that they foist on whomever and whatever?
By the way, the fact that he's reviewing Harley Quinn in that manner just goes to show you how much actual human interaction these people have on the day-to-day.
It's funny SM should say this because the overarching point--as indicated by the title--is there's really no reason a TLOU TV show should even exist unless there were going to deviate from the game in some way. In which case, if you already have the game, what's the point of making a show? Why not just play the game again?
But of course, we all know the real reason why they made a show...
This is also what EFAP, Drinker, and others have turned themselves into over the past 3-4 years, just trend-followers consuming next product over and over. Like Drinker recently covered Velma. But there was really no reason to. He has no other videos covering Scooby-Doo and hasn't ever talked about having watched it or loved the Scooby-Doo cartoons. But he covers Velma. Why? Because it's trending and because it's woke. So he inflates his channel just because he puts "Velma" in the title of one of his videos, puts on an act, and calls it woke. It's lazy and it's disingenuous. Why are these people constantly taking pot shots at people and content they don't really care about? Just because something is trending doesn't mean it should be relevant or important.
Speaking of wokness, as others have pointed out too, Callum, has essentially taught himself to ignore things like race swapping because somehow race-swapping is not an indication of anything. I guess it's just coincidence that they're turning Norse characters in Viking or the new God of War series black, right? Because black people were so common in Scandinavia, right? Then again, maybe that all I makes sense. Callum would have this perspective given white British people are being filtered out by various non-white immigrants. Hell, whites are now a minority in London and Birmingham, the UK's two largest cities.
Drinker pokes at the beast a bit, but you do get the sense he's not trying to nuke his channel and so maintains a PG standard of anti-wokeness.
But, like I said before, Disney doesn't have to change their trajectory at all because they have a hate-watch fanbase that loves to tear it a new one anyway. They will pay money to consume product they hate because it's the only thing that adds any substantive to their anger-monger channel. In fact, this might even incentivize Disney to make even more woke content down the road.

To be frank, nobody is doing so hot nowadays because the economy is in the shitter and it's only going to get worse. If it's a choice between a subscription to your favorite shows or paying rent and feeding yourself for the month, people are going to choose food and shelter. Whether or not your favorite shows are race-swapping characters or pushing more troon shit doesn't really matter if your consumers don't have the money to pay a regular subscription for this garbage anyway. Unfortunately the oligarchs seem to think I make enough money to own a Tesla, an iPhone, and a PS5 and continue to make ends meet.

That is a good point, but if economic scarcity is the biggest market pressure then hatewatchers should be the first ones to drop the shows. The real hatewatching is in the view counts of Mauler and other video essayists. It's not uncommon to enjoy the secondary product more than the primary.
The recession is a factor, but I don't think it's the biggest. The theatrical side is even more brutal than streaming (attendance has dropped 50% since four years ago!!), but Top Gun: Maverick and Way of Water are still putting people in seats. Maverick's box office, inflation adjusted, is a hair's length away from the Godfather, in a time when you have take out a loan to buy popcorn and drinks. If you provide a real theatrical experience, people are still going to show up, even for comparatively weak IP (one being three decades old and the other having close to zero merchandising and social media footprint).
There's a stealthier trend that I haven't heard anyone talk about so far. The zoomer audience seems to be separating toward two opposite poles: the terminally online and the normies. There are a lot of 18-25 year olds with almost no cultural literacy in current or former cinema/tv, which by the way is great, but it's a huge change from the millennial generation, which is passingly familiar with Disney classics, Harry Potter, LOTR, Titanic, the Matrix, etc. On the terminally online side, you have people who are hyper-aware about everything, often in an ideological way from the left or the right, but I feel that's a shrinking market. For instance, Disney Star Wars generated immense controversy for some time, but much like the heat from a chemical reaction, that's died off and left an inert, apathetic audience. The Fandom Menace can keep arguing with twitterers and redditors, but most people not only don't care about either side, they have lost all interest in the product as well. Eventually (and maybe we're already here) it'll resemble two hobos scrapping over a dead fish.
The real story of Velma isn't an obvious cope about right wing bait, it's that kids don't really care about Scooby Doo.

I'd say that ONLY kids care about Scooby-Doo, in the sense those direct-to-market movies (can't say VHS or DVD anyone, damn) did enough to keep getting made. The real story of Velma is that people don't want a different Scooby-Doo that has nothing they liked in the original
