Does anyone think that the gba zero design and the 4 guardians were rejected battle network characters? You could put them in that series and their aesthetics would fit perfectly.

That video about "housekeeping robot" Roll in it makes it a good time to post this.

Kobun20 is a guy who's...dedicated to Mega Man and has been translating stuff from it for many years. Today he drops out this absolute shitlog of a Twitter thread that's supposed to be a history about Roll, and half of it looks like he's trying to justify shipping her with her brother Mega Man.

For some reason the last tweet in the thread is about respecting people's "shipping opinions". They both are robots who look like prepubescent children.

There's even a fanart in there of the two characters kissing, the "artist" lamenting that they are brother and sister because they would rather see them French kiss.
Speaking of them looking like children, did anyone know x was like 5'2" or something? I always thought he was adult sized, but he and zero are teen sized.

Also dont wanna read that, that sounds disappointing to look at.

Welcome to Japanese media, where most guys range from 5'2" to 5'5" because I guess that's what the Japanese consider normal male height.
It's been growing over the years until recently (where they're somehow getting shorter apparently), but yeah, back in the 80s and 90s that was about the average height of adult males there back then.

How tall is Sigma? I could have sworn he was about 7ft tall. Here's one that has X's height relative to Sigma's.

always thought he was this tall
he looks about 8ft here because X's head literally gets around his upper abdomem while on the other he image:

he looks closer to his shoulder so that's 7ft

however there are differences on both armors if you pay attention.

His thighs are certainly thicker in the Day of Sigma OVA. The differences in Sigma's armor are pretty nominal - mostly the yellow thing on the back of Sigma's neck, the spikes that come out from his back, and double layered shoulder plates.

Why is Sigma purposely starting an insurrection against his own organization in the maverick hunter OVA?

He claims X is the only one with free will but immediately disproves that by giving Vile a choice in helping him or not.

The X1 novelization gets into that sort of thing.

The difference between X and Reploids is that X can worry about his choices and then change them after the fact.

In contrast, Reploids can only make calculated decisions and do not have the ability to second-guess themselves. In other words, Sigma knows that Vile will join him, because Vile's thinking is like his, fully deterministic. It's the logical move for someone in Vile's position.

Megaman could really use a 3D adventure game that plays like that. 2D platformers are just lazy garbage most of the time, but if you can get a fully 3D world realized with a 2D perspective (like metroid dread), why not go all the way and make levels around 3D gameplay? The effort was already there and they do sell better

So that means someone as dumb as GutsMan had better decision making capabilties than Vile.

In theory Gutsman would have the same issue Vile did.

It's always been a big ol' handwave what exactly makes Reploids different from Robot Masters, who would be classified as effectively Mechaniloids. I gave the quasi-official explanation, but the real answer is: don't even try to make sense of it, basically.

3d gameplay was tried with X7 with... poor results. Basically 3d is a harsh mistress for something like MegaMan. Right of the bat 3d means you can avoid pretty much all combat unless you soft lock areas forcing engagement, platfprming challenges also go out the window since 3d platforming is a lot harder to do properly as well. So your high octane jump and shoot game has suddenly a lot less jumping and the combat will probably slow down.

Doesn't mean it's not doable, a Platinum style game but with gunplay as the core pr something like Doom Eternal could be a decent base, but then the hard part is transfering the megaman essence in there.

gutsman isn't dumb, he's a construction focused robot master which means he's pretty good on calculating construction related shit.
vile is a combat reploid that was accused of having a faulty brain on the ova but on x1 he has a grudge against X, if anything vile would be dumber than gutsman when it's to build shit related but obviously gutsman is dumb when it's combat related things because he wasn't built for that.

Vile's deal is pretty consistent: he's got a grudge against X because everyone likes him while Vile thinks X is a wimp.

the problem is that they retcon on ova for vile having a brain issue while on X1 none of that shit is mentioned, on x1 he was acting as a lieutenant for sigma once the rebellion starts and the game writes him off as a miniboss calling X outdated and weak while on x3+ he goes sigma like obsession with X.

MHX itself has Vile go "X, X, X! Why does everyone like that guy?"

The brain defect was just a possible explanation of his general characterization of being excessively violent instead of just doing his job of being a robot cop. It's not really a retcon per se.

Vile is like the one guy who has remained consistent throughout every appearance and adaptation. He's got exactly two traits: he likes blowing stuff up and he's jealous of the attention an old robot like X gets.

Its really not that hard. The real problem would be the tards of today making it a multiplayer online only cashgrab like x dive and genuinely believing nothing else can ever be made except the forced trend of the day,
