I have rarely seen a thread recently that anyone with "Fresh Meat," label on them not shit up a thread lately.

They do one of two things:
One they start whining in the thread about a person and going into classic a-logging behaviors soon after.
Or two start talking about how they are so much "better," than someone else and when they get called a "faggot," they cry about it.

Why are all the newfags like this?

Is this really a new thing?

I imagine it's the same everywhere and has been for a long time. It's just that some places are more forgiving than others.

The culture of long time lurking is long past, and people want to "use" the account as soon as possible.

They have nothing worthy to say, but they think this is a place they can say anything they want. So they do just that. Use the place like a Twitter where you can say nigger and kike.

The post-Reopening members here are some of the lowest quality users I’ve ever seen on any website. They’re legitimately retarded and not in a funny way.

You don't get rid of the label by lurking only, so I think they're trying to post frequently to get rid of their 'fresh meat' label asap, but have nothing productive to say. That might be a factor if they're worse than usual.

It has been an issue online since Eternal September (1993) further made worse by the release of the iPhone in 2007.

Nobody seems to embrace the "long time lurker, first time poster" thing anymore. They jump right in then get butthurt when someone calls them a mean name and gives them a mean sticker. You just have to hope that the worst offenders either finally get it and sort themselves out or just go somewhere else.

It's not just comments and time. I see years old accounts with fresh meat, yet I lost mine in about a week. I think it's related to other things too. Possible factors I can think of: Comment number, rating score, threads viewed. Last one probably does fuck all, but you never know.

I thought eternal September was around 97ish? I remember being one of those fags shitting up the internet with my free ten billion hours from an AOL CD that was posted through my door.

Fun fact: back in those days, someone's email password was the same as their dial up password, for AOL. The password recovery was full retard as well, just easily searchable security questions. Fun times.

I still strongly contend that our latest batch of accounts is nowhere near as bad as the batch that came during the Chris-Barb saga. Not even close.

Registrations were opened after months of being closed.
It's still nowhere near as bad as last fall after Chris raped his mother.

Seems like you're equating shitting up threads with being a pussy. I disagree. Now, observe as I shit up this thread with my opinions:

Pussies have two options: run away and hide because somebody called you a mean name, or grow a pair and take a critical look at your own behavior. If someone calls you a pussy or a faggot and it makes you chimp out, they were right.

Clearly, the only solution is to bully everyone universally to filter out the weak ones who don't belong here, or at least belong in a certain section instead of posting as a user.

A newfag is only a newfag until they've been around long enough to mature into an oldfag, but a faggot is a faggot forever.
