I'm starting to think that the 2 animators thing is fabricated at this point. Do you really think that something as badly made as that trailer could require more than one person to make it?

He had only one animator (Alex Bradley) for the trailer and the animatic.
He recruited a second one (Terra Snover) later, when he finally realised one dude couldn't handle the workload alone. Snover herself has talked about working on Gen Zed, so it's not just Hayden bullshitting. (ETA: @BOLDYSPICY! went into more detail about Snover here.)
Hayden did brag about hiring an actual studio several times, but nothing seems to have come out of it and he has recently admitted therewere only two people currently working on the animation. So the studio thing was most likely a complete falsehood.
In any case, we haven't seen anything from the animators since last summer. Not so much as a sketch, not a single sign of progress, nothing.
The fact that both animators are unpaid means they might be prioritising their paid jobs and working on Gen Zed on their spare time, so that could explain the delay. Still, they haven't produced so much as a crappy doodle in months- nothing to keep people interested on Gen Zed.
For all we know, the entire GZ crew might as well have dropped off the face of the Earth.
If Hayden had the slightest idea on how to market a show, he'd know you should regularly provide updates so people don't forget about you- but the delusional little egomaniac probably thinks his oh-so-funny tweets are enough.

This is the timeline of hayden's animator lies
1) "We have a capable animator working on it."
2) "Our original animator (Bradley) is still going strong but work is slow" and has help in the form of a homeless woman (that hayden wont pay)
3) "The workload is too much for Bradley so he got an animation studio to take over"
4) animation studio has fucked off
So all in all the show is probably fucked.

Actually, Hayden hired Snover pretty early on, back in September, before all that crap about hiring a studio.
She just posted a bit of fanart and Hayden hired her based just on that. Internet professional, y'know.
In addition to what @SteelPlatedHeart posted, @BOLDYSPICY! pointed out earlier, Snover is destitute and struggling very hard, so Hayden's a complete scumbag for taking advantage of her.
And it's a minor detail, but Hayden never talked about letting go of their original animator. IIRC, Bradley was supposed to stick around and work along the animation studio.
Hayden's been adamant that their sead animator has always stayed onboard, he just had time constraints. But we all know better than to trust anything he says.

Shit guess I'll have to amend the timeline
Here's what I can make of it:
- He started with just Bradley doing everything.
- He hired Snover in Sept. when she contacted him.
Initially, it was just so she could help on the 3D parts. The bulk of the animation still resided with Bradley.
Snover was generally mentioned as a 3D artist, Bradley was the only one credited as an animator.
- In November, they started hinting at "big animation news" and contracts.
- In December, they announced they'd signed up with a true and honest animation studio.
- In January, they told a Kiwi they opted for the studio route because the workload was too hard on their one animator.
They insited their original animator (Bradley) was still working on the project.
- In February, Hayden admitted there were in fact only two animators currently working on Gen Zed. that seems to rule out anything about a studio.
Snover has mentioned working on GZ recently, so it's likely she is the second animator in question.

I'm pretty sure we found the name of the animation studio he supposedly hired. Even found their website. Wasn't it called Big Epic or something like that?

@Ass Manager 3000 found the people who produced a marketing package for Gen Zed, though. Maybe that's what you were thinking of?

IIRC I found a tweet from a supposed production team from Gen Zed that Hayden Liked. I will dig through this thread and see if I can find it. It may have been satirical however.
