That first tweet in toilet_rainbow's post...amazing how she can beg while at the same time reproaching her viewers. No one has 'sent assistance' for 5 weeks & you'd think the metaphorical radio silence would be a clear message but of course not.
Nobody is going to be inclined to throw money at what looks to my uneducated eye to be a moldy, vermin ridden unmaintained trailer. People will be reluctant to send money to a person who refuses to help herself, who turns up her nose at "poor food". According to a couple of web sites I checked, roughly 8 million people depend on SSDI - I don't see 8 million Twatter based beg-a-thons out there. Damned right it's tough to live poor but if you're ruthless about saving costs, sometimes there's even room for a few smaller luxuries & you sure appreciate it more.
The economy is a mess right now with food inflation running well over the overall inflation rate & the latter number isn't prettier. Most people are looking to cut costs &if they're still inclined to make charitable donations, they're going to be very discerning about where their hard earned money goes. A bottomless pit who can't be bothered to ask nicely & say: "please", who has an excuse for everything... isn't going to cut it.

The best grifters understand that the person donating money wants to feel a sense of accomplishment, like their donation made a difference.
The "my cat is sick" as a donation scam isn't a bad one and plenty of people have found success with it. If Polissa was smart she'd show some pictures of Gomez as a kitten, maybe some videos of him as a grown up kitty looking cute but in pain. Once people have established a relationship of sorts with the cat, she could post regular status updates on how the donation drive is going. The donation needs to be going up slowly but surely. Too quick and people won't bother donating. If there's zero progress people write it off as a lost cause and won't bother either.
Most importantly though, there needs to be the closure: if not at the time the person donates, at least once the goal is met. A joyful post about how the generous donors literally saved Gomez's life, and look how happy he looks now. Maybe a little clip of him at the vet getting snuggles. The donors get a little hit of good feeling for their dollars. You've also primed them for further, bigger grifts further on down the road. Maybe it's time to get serious about the home for wayward cats and get some toys and enclosures for your kitties. You do however need to have some rest time between grifts, or you risk burning people out.
Polissa is incurably greedy however, and sees nothing wrong with running multiple grifts from the same platform at once. Why would someone chip in five bucks for vet care when in two tweets time they can plainly see Polissa has no plan on how to feed Gomez? Also, she needs a few thousand dollars for home repairs, otherwise the cat will live in squalor. She never makes any serious effort to thank her donors or act like her life has been improved in any way. Polissa broadcasts nothing but despair and demands for further money.
Polissa dreams of some big money donor to pay all her bills, but the reality is she's relying on other poor people to chip in what little spare cash they have to her. I guarantee you the people that have donated to her have forgone some small luxury to do so. They've sent the five bucks they had earmarked for candy or a fast food treat to Polissa instead. They're not going to keep doing that with what she's providing back, and it's no surprise that the miniscule donations she was getting have stopped.

When I was growing up it was considered the height of bad manners to talk about politics or religion in my country. That's rather changed as I got older. Having grown up with the internet, many people are used to just blaring out whatever they're thinking at the moment, no matter what it is.

Too many people have no social filter when it comes to social media, online politisperging aside. I've seen countless people use social medial to share TMI details that should concern the family members on their friend list; it's a bit horrifying when they don't tell these people that they're posting way too much personal detail for their own good, but I guess people have convinced themselves they can post whatever online without consequence.
In Polissa's case, she's shared TMI and powerlevel details about her female health and private life that nobody, whether related or not, wants or needs to read about her. It's still quite hilarious to recall how Josh came on here to complain about the discussion of Polissa's yeast infection - something nobody would have even thought about had she not previously disclosed it on social media for anyone to see
If this was Oz, someone would drop a trailer on her and she'd shrivel away like every other wicked witch

I think Polly's push to move to the trailer is because either she's getting evicted or her lease will be up and the landlord told her he's not going to renew it. That does make sense with Polissa's previous political sperging. Polissa's reality is so distorted, however, thinking she meant the Land of Oz wasn't that much of a stretch.
I wouldn't be surprised if Polissa is persona non grata at her current rental for whatever reason (nonpayment of rent, destruction of the property, all the squalor, etc.) that she has to relocate to Tub Trumpet Terrace
whether she wants to or not and is scrambling to get it as habitable as possible as quickly as she can. I doubt she'll be successful, but it should be amusing to watch the saga unfold.

So there's one issue she's not a complete idiot about? Good to know.
Successful grifters have at least a rudimentary understanding of others' emotions, and how to present a story that plays on them. It may be a crude story with big holes in it, but as long as it fires off the right emotional responses in the target, there will be a positive response.
Good long-term grifters also understand that each story needs an arc, that each crisis needs to be resolved, that there needs to be an appropriate display of gratitude. They also understand that you need to wait a while between crises, or else move on to a new audience before staging your next one, because repeatedly trying to wring money out of the same people has rapidly diminishing returns (see: Jude Valentin).
Polissa is so far up her own ass, and so lacking in even the most basic empathy, she can't comprehend what makes other people feel sympathy toward another's struggles, and thus want to donate. All she understands is that other people have money she doesn't, that this is unfair, and that they should give it to her because she needs it. That there is a reciprocal exchange that goes on, and that the donor has emotional needs that need to get met by donating, is totally beyond her understanding. So her begging is just a constant refrain of, "Give me money because I need it," and she doesn't understand why that doesn't work.
Had he dumped her and left, he would have inflicted a massive narcissistic injury on her, and thus triggered her destructive Narc rage. She'd be cranking up the histrionics to 11, and intent on destroying him, because how dare he abandon her with all of those animals to fend for themselves.
My guess is that somebody with some authority—such as a court-appointed attorney—has told him to stay off social media, and tell his smug fat cunt of a wife to stop posting about him. Josh isn't very smart, but I think he's just smart enough to heed that kind of advice, plus he isn't the social media junkie Polissa is. And that advice has successfully penetrated Polissa's fat-clogged skull, because she has a lot to lose by continuing to make posts about him.

I really need to update the OP and poll. I personally think that @Angry New Ager is right, along with Polissa is a greedy narc and has a tendency to just refer to everything as hers hers hers. Instead of updating her potential paypigs on how Gomez is doing, she is begging for flea collars. I presume this is for all the cats since she did not specify how many she need.
She specifically wants Seresto brand flea and tick collars, which are $60 a pop.
She also wants to move to Canada once again. Not for reproductive rights but because of Louisiana prison rights.
(For context: Louisiana voters could vote on whether or not to amend the state constitution to abolish slavery as a legal punishment or condition per the thirteenth amendment. For non Burgers, the thirteenth amendment prohibits slavery unless you're in prison (i.e. become government property). Louisiana voters overwhelmingly voted no to changing the constitution's slavery definitions. Not that this matters for Polly considering she lives in fuckin' Alabama and the most notorious Louisiana prison (Angola) doesn't take in female inmates anyway.)

Judging by that laundry list of needs for the trailer in her beg post, any idiot can tell that the trailer is unliveable and no one else thinks it's a good idea to pursue either. Good for the crowdfunding crowd, they're making a smart decision for once.
In regard to Canada, they will absolutely not take in anyone with no job prospects and no desire to work, let alone one trailing a menagerie of animals and diabetic deadbeats along with her. That gave me a good laugh.

Sigh... I really feel for the Divine Duchess of Deservedness. If we give her a move in date of December 23rd - to fulfill the necessity of getting out of the old hovel into the new hovel for Christmas... that's only 44 days! Come on folks, that's barely enough time to grift several thousands of bucks for a laughably naive, short sighted list of repairs. I wonder if she's bothered having Josh measure the door frames because I'll bet my unopened candy bar, they're well out of true.
But I digress - get a move on because with at least days needed to get the money, time is short to draft an army of willing minions not out hunting or watching football to get the work done - those "peel & ick" tiles won't adhere themselves, ya know. There's barely enough time to get what's on the list done, never mind the twice as long list of undiscovered or ignored horrors that can't be manifested away.
And Po'lissa is so stressed by the exhausting, frantic activities of rushed repairs in advance of a hurried move, she FORGOT ABOUT CHRISTMAS!
As it's a mellow mid-evening for me, I'll helpfully prvide the additional list items:
3 smiling volunteers to show up bright &early Christmas Eve to put away the last of those pesky moved items, decorate the trailer with the latest on trend holiday decor & to prep the ingredient for a sumptuous Christmas Dinner the next day. And to wrap all the presents.

a tree - must be cat proof & come with integral lights & cohesive ornaments
garlands
tiny hangable stuffies for door knobs & other spots
a turkey
a ham, (in case I change my mind & feel like ham. Must be a spiral honey ham because anything else makes my tummy wobble

pickles, onions, little cheeses, buns & other nibblies
A chocolate log roll
apple pie
lemon meringue pie
a selection, (at least 6 kinds), of Christmas cookies
a rib eye steak for the dog

Of course all the tremendous work involved in doing repairs, moving & supervising Christmas preps is exhausting so if a few people could drop by early on the 26th to clean up... early but not too early, because I'll need to sleep in.

You're spot on about her chucking in a yuletide grift around December. I also guarantee she uses donated money on some xmas treat for herself before she buys things for pets or her relocation
