Honselty I really am loving alot of Netflix shows that haven't gotten alot of attention. For instance I am really enjoying Monkey King.

Saw a clip of the Obama show, looked pretty accurate tbh.

That new Dahmer show mostly sucked. Evan Peters is great but once he's off the screen the quality of the show plummets. The people behind the show try their hardest to make it into a vehicle about black oppression and shit like that. Glenda Cleveland, someone who in real life had little connection to Dahmer, is now his next door neighbor who *knew* he was a serial killer but was ignored 'cause she's black. They even race-swap a lead detective on the case into a black guy so that he can yell at Dahmer about how black lives matter.

All of Evan Peters' scenes edited down into a movie probably could work but as a nearly 10 hour show, it gets tedious pretty fast, especially the second half where Dahmer is in it less and less.

The reason Dahmer was able to get away with it for so long was because he lived in a crappy part of town where despite any smells or noises that may have come out of his apartment, well, nobody really cared.
Yeah, he was an opportunistic predator. Had he moved into a trailer park instead of a black neighborhood his victims would have then been mostly white trash.

They try to push the idea that he deliberately targeted black people... but even a cursory knowledge of Dahmer shows that isn't the case, so instead they focus mainly on presenting the idea that the police didn't care because his victims were black.

"Let's tell the real history of racism in America that people don't like talking about, and show how things really were, by making things up"

braaaa-vo

Wait seriously where legit messing with real life murders to do a "anti racist message"?
That's petty and distasteful since these victims weren't killed over a political statement but a closet homosexaul sick fuck.

I feel bad for the victims families

Wow, fuck that. I downloaded it but not watching now. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that Netflix is rewriting history for their agenda. Too bad because the Richard Ramirez doc was very good.

Into the Deep a documentary about Peter Madsen killing Kim Wall in his own little submarine sucked. They took this really eccentric guy committing a really strange murder and somehow made a really fucking dull documentary out of it. There's little insight into anything, nobody who investigated or otherwise worked on the case is interviewed, there's no new facts found out, or anything you'd probably look for in a documentary about a weird murder. 75% of it is just interviews with people who worked with the guy, giving various conjectures based off what little they knew about him.

Even worse is that the filmmaker who made Into the Deep had unique footage of Peter Madsen due to having previously been documenting his launch of a rocket but while there's a few good clips the majority of the footage is carefully curated clips of him saying shit like "I'm going to kill somebody with a spoon.", just the laziest, "shocking" stuff you can imagine. It ultimately feels incredibly amateurish; reading a random news article on the subject will probably inform you better than this does.

The film, of course, has a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Resident Evil Show was pretty fucking good. Outside of Wesker being black, Riddick absolutely sold it. You can change the race of imaginary characters as long as the actor is above par, and Lance Riddick is beyond the par when it comes to quality. I actually want to hear him voice the owner of Blue Umbrella in the next RE game.

At this point, I don't know what people want from Resident Evil anymore. Because the Anderson films were absolutely garbage if you respect the source material.

- The show created new characters and changed one existing character for Actor related reasons.
- Built up a universe DIRECTLY based on the games and even directly referenced the games several times.

And this is where I have my contention with the people who are constantly saying "it's not resident evil"
This is a franchise where women shoot flaming blood and dudes grow chainsaws, knives and bone based railguns out of their arms. Resident Evil is not a serious franchise. It's a science fantasy series chock full of wacky scientists who are only concerned with "if they could". "If they should" never crosses their minds, even as their creations are eating them. It's a franchise where a guy invented full body remodeling just so he could be with his waifu. It's a franchise where a woman weaponized mushrooms to clone her dead daughter. It's a franchise where the side effects of one virus changes your gender.

Nothing about RE was ever as serious as these reviewers make it out to be.

So far the show has featured
- T-Virus Mutations like the Gravediggers , Spiders and the Alligators.
- Plagas style cult assholes living in Germany.
- A nostaliga-fag puzzle that only Wesker or Marcus himself would do.
- A reminder that Eastern Europe and parts of China are still fucked due to the events of RE6 and Revelations.( Re7 and 8 haven't happened yet in this timeline)
- Throwbacks to Resident Evil 0 where Wesker was a sentimental cunt towards William
- Throwbacks to Welcome to Racoon City ( They reused the Lisa costume, since Lisa is supposed to be GIGANTIC not a tiny little girl.)
- Mind control devices . Everyone chimped out over the dancing scene but how is that stupid? That's exactly what happened to Jill. Wesker stuck a mind control device on her and turned her into his personal ninja who was dodging bullets and running up walls, yet making a woman dance wayyyy is too much for the Resident Evil fanbase?

Worst thing about the show
-The Time skips. Why the fuck couldn't they just be their own episodes?

Coolest thing about the show.
- The show wants you to hate Jade and it goes out of it's way to remind you. Shes a stupid , selfish , petulant super human. Billy started off the same way but as the episodes progressed, she grew a personality while Jade suffered from arrested development and didn't evolve beyond being a stubborn selfish cunt. She takes no responsibility for her actions, nor does she feel remorse for what she does. A complete "ends justify the means" anti-hero at it's finest. Which is what I'd expect from someone built by Wesker.

Netflix RE was garbage. Sure, it's enjoyable for how cringe it is, but even then it's not even close to being so-bad-its-good.

Can't tell if this is bait or concentrated autism.

Sadly, it's not bait and it's not concetrated autism. This is like that 1% pure autism. But anyway, what was bad about the show?

It's not like the Midnight Club. It's the exact same story about a bunch of sad and dying kids telling stories to each other. Except now there's MORE JUMP SCARES and a complete sub story about a supernatural witches coven that can cure cancer, completely shitting up the plot - also for a series where EVERYONE DIED AT THIS POINT IN THE BOOK, there's somehow enough material to make a season 2.

Resident Evil was the least Netflix'd out of all the things they got the rights to adapt.
