A would-be robber pretending to be a stranded motorist killed a Florida college student who had pulled his own weapon in self-defense during a gunfight in Alabama, authorities said.

Adam Simjee, 22, and his girlfriend, Mikayla Paulus — both students at the University of Central Florida — were driving through Talladega National Forest near Cheaha State Park when they were flagged down Sunday by suspect Yasmine Hider, the Clay County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

Hider said her car had broken down and when the victims offered their help, she "produced a gun and made the couple walk back into the woods," according to the sheriff.

Simjee then pulled his concealed handgun and wounded Hider "multiple times" before he too was shot and then died at the scene, the sheriff said.

Paulus, who was not wounded in the shootout, called 911 and told authorities there was another woman with Hider. Searchers eventually found the suspects' camp about a half-mile away, where they had been "living off the grid," according to the sheriff's statement.

That's where police officers and deputies found second suspect Krystal Diane Pinkins and her young child.

"As officers were ordering the female to the ground a 5-year-old child ran from the woods holding a loaded shotgun," the sheriff said. "Law enforcement told the child to put the shotgun down however the child continued to the female’s location before laying the gun on the ground."

Pinkins, 36, remained in custody Friday, booked on suspicion of endangering the welfare of a child, murder, two counts of kidnapping and two counts of robbery, jail records showed.

Hider was taken to a hospital in Birmingham and will eventually be jailed on suspicion of murder, two counts of kidnapping and two counts of robbery, the sheriff said.

Clay County District Court Judge David Law on Wednesday issued a gag order, preventing both law enforcement and defense lawyers from commenting on the case.

His order also directed Clay County Sheriff Jim Studdard to scrub from social media any statements his office had previously made about the case.

Simjee was a finance major at UCF where he had been enrolled since last fall, a school representative said Friday. Paulus was about to embark on her first semester at UCF, pursuing her master’s degree in counselor education

Yeah anyone who didn’t know these were black criminals when they read that they armed a 5-yo and sent it to confront the cops does not know black v white family dynamics. A white kid has to be older before they’re able to be trained like that. Even Irish Traveler kids serving as guard and attack dogs are usually more like 7.

What we must accept is that there really are ways in which black kids mature faster than other races. No one is surprised that a chimp takes longer to grow to adulthood than a Rottweiler.

I interpret this as "information about the way these nutjobs were living and/or potential mental health history is likely to prejudice the result".

What a weird case... it's like something out of Deliverance, only with niggers. That kid probably saved his girlfriend's life, or at least kept her from becoming a sex slave.

The first rule of surviving a gunfight is don't put yourself in a situation where you're likely to get into a gunfight. I'm not saying the guy had it coming, but I will say that the collective threat assessment ability of the human race improved that day.

That is the one with the kid that was hiding at the camp. The shooter was Yasmine Hider of which I can't find a picture.
 
The anti-gun people will say this proves that concealed carry doesn't work, since the victim ultimately died.

Ignoring the fact he posthumously put the brakes on not one, or two, but THREE wild individuals who easily could've and would've repeated their trap several more times and entered the Hall of Serial Killers with others bemoaning how at least a few of their roll call of victims would've lived had "just one" had a gun.

As it was, they will ultimately be forgotten about in jail with only the bare minimum number of bodies to their name to be called murderers.

An armed populace is objectively better than a disarmed one.
 
I'm sorry for innocent black people who are just getting by, I know they are out there but this is a good lesson as in to not help black people in isolated areas.

The only time I've ever helped people whose car broke down was because it broke in the left lane and thus, was causing a log jam and only to push it into the nearest gas station. If the car is already pulled over, never get out to help. If it's real, they've called AAA or other roadside service already.
